Under Louisiana law, anyone living in a proposed city can contest incorporation. Kinda a bad look when your entire business community wants out

EBR schools are basically ONLY in the city of Baton Rouge or in the unincorporated parts of the parish

We have 4 school districts presently: East Baton Rouge, Baker, Zachary and Central. The first is the parish, the rest are cities

How do the other towns pay for a school district?

Because they were literally like "We want our own school district so we're going to form our own city but we're not creating any taxes specific to said city."

How would that work? Our county changes the mill rate based on which school district you are in. Would it be similar?
