James • just nowI mean that has become a myth imo. Sure there are extremes still but the CoL has gone up pretty high here since 2021 and while it's not California levels it is much worse than it was in 2017
-
Caesar • just nowAlso happy birthday, Xman
-
Caesar • just nowIntersante
-
Xixak • just nowApparently Kompany to Bayern?
-
Caesar • just nowIdk if the cost of living is all that low in Iowa
-
James • 1 minute agoOnce again might have good schools, low CoL and etc. But you would be bored to death
-
Caesar • 1 minute agoSchool's out. Got home in 20 minutes
-
Caesar • 2 minutes agoI saw a video the other day that had Des Moines has the 10th best place to live in the US
-
James • 3 minutes agoIowa? You would be bored to death.
-
James • 3 minutes agoYeah CT is expensive, we lived there for 4 years before and survived fine. It will for sure be a downgrade in quality of life but it won't be anything worse than we had pre-kids and might just regress back to what we had when we had just the one kiddo
-
The JZA • 3 minutes agoSo right now, I'm just saving up and doing homework. This chick tried to get me to consider Iowa
-
The JZA • 5 minutes agoI was thinking CT as well, be closer to my immediate family (mother, siblings, etc) in case of emergency. But talking to my uncle who used to live there swayed me away cause of their state taxes, but now I'm not so sure how dated his info is since he's a commuter himself

Oh for sure, very aware, but I'm not in the game to buy property just yet. I'm just in the zone to lay some roots where I can settle before I turn my attention to building a portfolio of properties
-
The JZA • 9 minutes agoAnd with having ties there, I had plans moving there. But unfortunate events had disturbed those plans for the meantime
-
The JZA • 10 minutes agoMaryland: My best friend moved there a couple years back before he passed last summer. 2022, I went down to visit and get my 1st car. I stayed 2 weeks out in Glen Burnie, South of Baltimore, and it gave me SC vibes but in a good way
-
James • 11 minutes agoOh that's a dangerous game. Texas does that but they compensate by jacking up property taxes. So just be aware of that.
-
The JZA • 12 minutes agoShort answer for Tennessee: no state income tax.
-
James • 13 minutes agoWhy Tennessee/Maryland?
-
James • 13 minutes agoOkay time to flip this back on you
-
The JZA • 14 minutes agoSay less. Motives my man. Being close to relatives is all well and dandy but your family's future is home. I don't need to tell you that bud. Just don't get stuck in that rut
-
James • 16 minutes agoPlus the headquarters for my wife's job is there too. So it will allow her to advance her career more.
-
James • 17 minutes agoOh yeah, it's not the end of the world. We enjoyed CT. We liked a lot about it, including the ability to do nice quick day trips to BOS or NYC. A lot more to do being able to do that than here in OKC.
-
The JZA • 18 minutes agoGotta make moves James, for the better. Ain't that simple but you got more than enough motive to do so
-
The JZA • 19 minutes agoThey want us unified to fight a political battle with our lives but keep us divided in our own backyard. Crazy
-
The JZA • 20 minutes agoYeah, I hate that red/blue system
-
James • 21 minutes agoAlso I have a wife, so the women's issue affect her as well.
-
James • 23 minutes ago
For example my vote doesn't really matter in any national election due to how red Oklahoma isThe JZA wrote: ↑25 minutes agoI believe we just need a whole new voting system in America. Tbh, this shit doesn't work. Having to fight for the right to vote, only for certain jobs to depend on the votes of the masses but the mass don't do their due diligence on these politics and ultimately get fucked by the same hand. -
Caesar • 25 minutes agoIt’s the boomers’ fault the family dynamic is falling apart

-
djp73 • 27 minutes agoIm guessing the boomer/silent generation family members are the ones really holding that extended family dynamic together in most cases
-
The JZA • 28 minutes agoYeah, a lot of sticky situations there. I'd def get up outta there for the sake of the daughters. They need a fairer chance at the challenges ahead
-
James • 32 minutes agoLike we are in the bottom 3 education wise.
-
James • 32 minutes agoEducation is plummeting as our elected leader there is in there for culture wars, also our state essentially views women as second class citizens as they have gone pretty hard on the anti-abortion stuff, to include denying healthcare to women because it might be consider an extension of "abortion".
