djp73 • just nowIm guessing the boomer/silent generation family members are the ones really holding that extended family dynamic together in most cases
-
The JZA • 1 minute agoYeah, a lot of sticky situations there. I'd def get up outta there for the sake of the daughters. They need a fairer chance at the challenges ahead
-
James • 6 minutes agoLike we are in the bottom 3 education wise.
-
James • 6 minutes agoEducation is plummeting as our elected leader there is in there for culture wars, also our state essentially views women as second class citizens as they have gone pretty hard on the anti-abortion stuff, to include denying healthcare to women because it might be consider an extension of "abortion".
-
James • 11 minutes agoEspecially with two little girls
-
James • 11 minutes agoYeah we are a little better than that but it doesn't outweigh the issues we have with the direction the state is heading

That exactly what that was for me. We came home and family just wasn't family. Nobody reached out unless someone is in the hospital or dead

That was the norm for my family as well, but we all connected through my great grandmother. She was a mason & did a lot for her community during her day. But we can just pop up there to her place and someone would be there already visiting. Like, I missed that honestly
-
James • 14 minutes agoWe moved back to OK because we thought it would be good to be near family and as we are back we realized that it wasn't what we thought and we don't like Oklahoma
-
Caesar • 14 minutes agoWe have a site in Tarrytown

Caesar • 14 minutes agoAy. A random place in America mentioned that I’ve heard of!
-
James • 15 minutes agoI have my own life with 2 kids, my wife and I both have full time jobs. We do major holidays but really we don't do much outside of that.
-
The JZA • 15 minutes agoSo really all the small things I held dear to my heart is practically gone. One of the main reasons why I hated living in SC cause I missed those 13 years I could've been spending with the elders & learning from them.

I think that's pretty common. The JZA wrote: ↑17 minutes agoLike, I don't mind the gentrification as much as others do, cause the real benefit is safer neighborhoods for the future generations. The JZA • 19 minutes agoBut seriously, I came from the back end of the crack pandemic. Most of the OGs I grew up around before I was kidnapped (that's my story I'm sticking to) for SC, they all passed away. My neighborhoods isn't the same. The authenticity is nearly gone.

James • 19 minutes agoAh
-
James • 20 minutes agoWe know we got a housing downgrade coming when we move.

-
The JZA • 30 minutes agoI'm looking to make a move to either Maryland or Tennessee in a couple years. NYC isn't home anymore. Honestly had enough of it

The JZA • 37 minutes agoWhat county? I was in Clarendon County. Hour southeast of Columbia
-
James • 39 minutes agoI lived in SC from 10-13.

The JZA • 39 minutes agoRather than running around in the streets with the wrong crew.

The JZA • 40 minutes ago
I get the sentiment. I'm from NY, but spent 13 years in South Carolina since '97. Worst years of my life, but I got the chance to grow up as a man mentally and emotionally
-
James • 40 minutes agoI love New England, we are moving back next year. Can't wait
-
The JZA • 41 minutes agoI spend most of my days traveling throughout CT
