Just about anything seaboard is expensive in these times. But I have no problems living without and within my means. Give me Internet, games, a good mechanic shop & good supermarket. I don't need much as I can do for myself which alot of adults these days have a problem doing lol

I mean that has become a myth imo. Sure there are extremes still but the CoL has gone up pretty high here since 2021 and while it's not California levels it is much worse than it was in 2017

Yeah CT is expensive, we lived there for 4 years before and survived fine. It will for sure be a downgrade in quality of life but it won't be anything worse than we had pre-kids and might just regress back to what we had when we had just the one kiddo

So right now, I'm just saving up and doing homework. This chick tried to get me to consider Iowa

I was thinking CT as well, be closer to my immediate family (mother, siblings, etc) in case of emergency. But talking to my uncle who used to live there swayed me away cause of their state taxes, but now I'm not so sure how dated his info is since he's a commuter himself

Oh that's a dangerous game. Texas does that but they compensate by jacking up property taxes. So just be aware of that.

Oh for sure, very aware, but I'm not in the game to buy property just yet. I'm just in the zone to lay some roots where I can settle before I turn my attention to building a portfolio of properties
