Put it like this. Of Pele’s top 100 players ever, 21 of them played for Real Madrid and more than half the list is South Americans or Africans who never left their country from back in the 50s and 60s

Okay, I think I'm understanding clearer now. Respectfully, I don't know THAT much about Real Madrid but we're learning
  • James47 minutes ago
But it’s been 15 years since they made the World Series so ManU fits too.

Yeah that’s why I mentioned the Yankees. Star power and the fact they have double the number of appearances and titles over the second place team.
  • Caesar54 minutes ago
But beyond the success, it’s the players. Real Madrid’s history is stacked with an absurd number of the greatest to ever play the game. That’s why the Yankees work. Same for the Lakers. That’s a lot of heavy lifting for ol TB12

Hell throw the Broncos in there. They took all those Ls in Super Bowls between the 70s and 90s
  • Caesar57 minutes ago
There are multiple NFL teams with that though. Steelers, 49ers, Packers, Cowboys
  • Captain Canada58 minutes ago
You ain't wrong but we talking about closest. Sustained success over 20ish years is probably your closest bet, no?
  • Caesar59 minutes ago
Them boys were playing pro ball for 41 years before their first Super Bowl

    That’s recency bias speaking

Patriots would probably be the closest in football, but it doesn't even touch any of those other ones

I guess the Lakers would also work. Yeah, Yankees in baseball, Lakers in basketball. Doesn't exist in football. There is no real dominant team across the entirety of the history of the NFL.
  • CaesarMon Jun 03, 2024 8:11 am
Although as of late, the Yankees have been more Manchester United than Real Madrid :troll:
  • CaesarMon Jun 03, 2024 8:08 am
Probably. I can't think of a better US analog
  • JamesMon Jun 03, 2024 8:08 am
Would you conflate Real Madrid to the Yankees in baseball?
  • AgentMon Jun 03, 2024 8:08 am
Oh ok they aren’t bringing back the HS season. Yeah I’ll probably go through with it on NCAA13
