Hank McCamish Pavilion. Atlanta, GA - Georgia Tech got blown out, but the Thrillerdome was still thrilling as fans were able to watch the potential number one pick for the upcoming NBA Draft in Tavon Cash. The 6'4" freshman guard finished the game with 17 points, 4 rebounds, 9 assists, and 5 steals in 24 minutes. He also caused much trouble on defense for his matchup senior Josh Heath who turned over the ball 7 times tonight.

The Hurricanes were up as much as 36 points during the game, but the Yellow Jackets went on a 11-2 run in the last two minutes of the game when the Hurricanes had their second unit subbed in. If Georgia Tech wanted to win, they should have played freshman Josh Okogie who did not step on the court once the whole game. Who knows, maybe that Okogie kid would playing in the NBA one day.

I still can't believe that 20 assist game. Lets get this National Championship and move onto the NBA.

Totally didn't expect that performance. UNC just kept leaving players open. Ya know Tavon has to feed them.

Miami #12 Tavon Cash puts a nail in the coffin with a floater over Maryland #2 Melo Trimble.

Starting Lineups:
Miami | Maryland
Tavon Cash -PG- Anthony Cowan
Davon Reed -SG- Melo Trimble
Rashad Muhammad -SF- Justin Jackson
Dewan Huell -PF- Robert Carter
Kamari Murphy -C- Diamond Stone
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Xfinity Center. College Park, MD. - When the Hurricanes were down by 10 with ten minutes left in the second half and Tavon Cash subbed out for whatever reason, the game looked all but over; however, the momentum of the game shifted when Jim Larrañaga finally put in his starters back in the game at the seven minute mark. Tavon Cash, Davon Reed, and Kamari Murphy stepped up on defense by forcing turnovers on full-court traps that helped cut the deficit to two points. The Terrapins, shaken up by the sudden rally from the Hurricanes, not only started choking on offense but also started giving up easy buckets on defense. Cash and Huell's signature pick-and-roll play, which covered up perfectly throughout the whole game, was finally working. The Canes managed to take the lead with two minutes left when Cash found teammate Rashad Muhammad open for a mid-range shot. Afterwards, Canes had full control of the game. Fans in the Xfinity game knew it was over when Tavon Cash shot a floater in Melo Trimble's face.

Maryland coach Mark Turgeon commented on how they choked hard and should've focused on shutting down Tavon Cash more. Turgeon told the press, "When we had that big lead, we got too complacent. Tavon Cash noticed that and capitalized on it when he was subbed back into the game."

To finish the week, Miami will play #24 Louisville.
