Phoenix Suns excited with drafting Clint Dean, the 2032 NCAA' Defensive Player of the Year, with the 25th pick.



As concerns from NBA scouts emerged about Clint Dean's frequent toe injuries at Texas, the big man's draft stock began to fall from a projected lottery selection to a late-first rounder.

"With the 25th pick in the 2032 NBA Draft, the Phoenix Suns select Clint Dean out of the University of Texas."

While the previous 24 picks decided to pass on a potentially injury-prone big, the Suns decided to take a chance on the 7'1" big, potentially joining Jarrett Allen, Kai Jones, & Jericho Sims as the next Texas player on the roster. Jones & Sims' future in Phoenix remains unclear at this time as both big men are now free agents.

Clint Dean averaged 18.8 PPG, 7.6 RPG, 0.9 SPG, 1.8 BPG in his junior season at Texas & is expected to make an impact on the team next season.



The Phoenix Suns also selected PG Sidiki Pettyjohn out of the University of Memphis with the 56th pick in the 2nd round.

Suns Pull The Trigger On 76ers Deal; Acquire 2x NBA All-Star Westley Hunt



The Phoenix Suns are betting the house on Westley Hunt after dealing away their frontcourt of Bam Adebayo, Jarrett Allen, & a 2035 1st round pick.

Hunt, an 8 year pro, played his first 7 seasons in Detroit before signing with Philadelphia in 2031. He averaged 22.0 PPG, 8.2 RPG, 5.6 APG, 1.3 SPG, & 1.4 BPG for the 76ers, as they struggled to find an identity last season.

Phoenix GM, Dante Wilcox, said that the trade allows for Phoenix to get a bit younger & adds an offensive threat to take some of the scoring load off of Tiny Jimenez for the 2032-2033 season, & also frees up some cap space as free agency begins in a few days.
