Tiny Jimenez Could Be Back As Early As All-Star Weekend After A Torn MCL On Jan. 8

Image

Phoenix Suns' fans woke up to good news this morning as a report revealed that 4x MVP, Tiny Jimenez, could return to the NBA hardwood sooner than later after sustaining a torn right MCL against the Dallas Mavericks just a little over 3 weeks ago. Initially reporting stated Jimenez could be sidelined for 1-2 months, but the 'Shogun of Newark' is living up to his social media name. That he truly is Invincible.

"He's one of the toughest guys I've ever met, if not the toughest. I'm not surprised he's ready to come back to hooping.. We have a goal as a team this year after losing in the Finals last season & he wants to be there with us every step of the way." Suns' guard Shaedon Sharpe told DS.net.

The 14-year NBA veteran, Tiny Jimenez, has missed 12 games since his injury. In that time the Suns have a record of 7-5, including losses to the Washington Wizards & New York Knicks (2 of the East's top teams). Despite missing their star player, there have been bright spots for Phoenix, including the offensive emergence of Aaron Christmas. Christmas has scored over 20 in three games as a starter as well as notched double-digits in assists for two of those games.

"Aaron has filled in as a phenomenal floor general since joining the starting lineup & is out there killing it. He knows exactly where everyone is going to be before it even happens. That's a testament to this team's chemistry & proves how smart of a basketball team we truly are." Suns' head coach LeBron James said to DS.net following today's team shootaround.

"We miss Tiny a lot. We can't wait for our brother to be back on the floor with us. He's the heart of this team & when he's out there, we're all better at what we do." Suns' forward Westley Hunt added when asked about the chance Jimenez returns in a couple of weeks.

The Phoenix Suns lost the throne atop the Western Conference amid the injury to Tiny, but if he returns near the All-Star break, the club will have time to retake the crown. The Suns are back in action on Friday as they'll travel to Sacramento to face a young Kings' team in the Golden 1 Center.
