Rutgers Falls at Home to Louisiana-Monroe

Rutgers (1-1) fell 86-83 at home on Monday to Louisiana-Monroe (1-2). Despite shooting 49%, including 9 for 13 from three and attempting 27 free throws, the Scarlet Knights' defense failed them as they allowed the Warhawks to shoot 57% and get to the charity stripe a whopping 42 times.

"The defense was absolutely atrocious. I'm deeply sorry to all Scarlet Knight fans that you had to watch that tripe." said Coach Williams after the game.

For Louisiana-Monroe, junior guard Heath Gibbs hit 6 of 7 shots on his way to 20 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 block. Senior forward Tarise Chenowith was held to just 7 points on 2 of 5 shooting, but added 2 assists, 6 rebounds, 1 steal, and 3 blocks.

For the Scarlet Knights, senior forward Melvin Lytle hit 4 of 6 shots on his way to 15 points, 3 assists, 8 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 block in the loss.

Rutgers' next game is on November 25 against Baylor (1-1) as part of the Advocare Invitational.

Thanks. Yes, bench is playing pretty well.. fully expect to get destroyed the first couple years though. Rutgers is really bad in this game.. not getting any credit for the last couple decent years lol.
