Rutgers Can't Hold On, Falls By One Point on the Road at Arkansas

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights (2-3) couldn't hold on down the stretch against Arkansas (5-1), falling 57-56 on the road. Rutgers managed to hold Arkansas' Thomas Morrison, who was averaging 23.4 points per contest coming in, to only 12 points on 4-11 shooting. It wasn't enough though, as Rutgers continued to allow their opponents to parade to the free throw line, this time to the tune of 27 attempts of which the Razorbacks converted 20. The Razorbacks were lead by center Deon Slaughter who scored 9 points while also contributing 11 rebounds, 5 blocks, and 6 steals.

For Rutgers, senior center Cedric Alexander had his second 20 point game of the season, going 9-18 from the floor. Alexander is averaging 14.2 ppg so far this season on 52% shooting. Freshman guard Reginald Weaver was the only other Scarlet Knight in double figures, scoring 11 points on 3-5 shooting, all from 3 point land.

Rutgers next game: December 5 at home vs South Florida (1-4).
