Good luck... Illinois seems legit. Don't expect them to lose two in a row.
Heh, I'll be happy to keep it within 20.

Herring scores 22, Illinois takes control late to beat Rutgers 79-71

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- -- Rutgers (4-9, 0-4 Big Ten) once again held tough for 30 minutes, but ultimately fell to #5 Illinois (14-1, 3-1 Big Ten) on the road by the score of 79-71. Illinois forward Peter Herring poured in 22 points in the win, and also chipped in 2 assists, 6 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 blocks.

Rutgers shock up the lineup a bit tonight, starting freshman guard Brian Trotman in the place of freshman guard Curtis Green. Green had turned the ball over a combined 16 times in the previous three games while putting up only 16 points and 7 assists. Trotman played slightly better, putting up 7 points and "only" 4 turnovers, while also managing to grab 6 rebounds. The Scarlet Knights' leading scorer was senior forward Melvin Lytle who put up 18 on 8-12 shooting in 30 minutes. Cedric Alexander also scored in double figures, contributing 10 points and 7 rebounds. As a team, Rutgers still continued to struggle mightily with turnovers as they gave it up 26 times in the game.

Rutgers returns home on January 9 to face Nebraska (7-7, 2-3 Big Ten).

Rutgers dominates Nebraska at home, picks up first win of Big Ten play

PISCATAWAY, NJ -- -- Cedric Alexander scored 23 points on 7 of 12 shooting as Rutgers (5-9, 1-4 Big Ten) picked up their first Big Ten win of the season with a 82-67 victory over Nebraska (7-8, 2-4 Big Ten) at the RAC. After a back and forth first 10-15 minutes, Rutgers went on a run to end the first half and continued to pour it on in the second period. The game was never really in doubt, as Rutgers led by as much as 21 and seemed to be in control the whole time. Curtis Green reentered the starting lineup and had a solid game, scoring 13 points and grabbing 5 rebounds though he did turn the ball over 4 times.

Rutgers goes on the road on January 13 to take on Northwestern (7-5, 2-1 Big Ten).
