Nevada's Isaiah Mohammed emerging as candidate for Georgia head coaching job
Jerry Howard -- Reno Gazette Journal Sports Writer

The Georgia Bulldogs have begun the process of interviewing potential replacements for fired head coach Dennis Felton and one candidate that has yet to be interviewed but remains a favorite is Nevada head coach Isaiah Mohammed whose Wolfpacks are set to play top-seeded Maryland in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Georgia went 14-16 last season, an eight win improvement from last season but failed to make the tournament for the fifteenth straight year.

According to Eddie James of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Bulldogs are also targeting Arkansas head coach Keith Dambrot and Gonzaga's Mark Few with Few having already interviewed for the job. The Bulldogs are awaiting for the end of the tournament to interview all possible candidates, including Mohammed, before making a decision.

Mohammed signed a five-year extension with the program last offseason but remains a hot candidate for numerous openings after leading Nevada to back-to-back Sweet Sixteens and on the verge of a third should they upset Maryland this weekend.

my favorite part of this chise :kghah: if we ever follow Coach Mo to a major conference :curtain: I might do more regular season updates but I figure most people don't care about a mid January game against San Jose State lmao so i just try to get to the postseason as quick as possible

I have it on very good authority that several programs will be watching that game closely to decide if Coach Mo is the right man for the job.

you know the vibes! it would be crazy if this team -- who after the Utah State loss I thought was dead in the water -- is the one to get us over the hump. We need Bitee's shooting and honestly the rest of the team's to come back online though, not gonna be able to bully Cincinnati in the paint like we did Maryland unless we can get Paullus in foul trouble
