No matter what happens, Wolfpack fans will always have this magical run in 2015
Jerry Howard -- Reno Gazette Journal Sports Writer

"What a beautiful, beautiful game."

Those were the first words uttered by Nevada head coach Isaiah Mohammed in his post-game interview, the confetti falling on him but not for him as Oregon won their second national championship, their first since 1939.

Mohammed's hopeful and appreciative tone followed him to his press conference where he quickly shot down any questions about his future. Instead, Mohammed was visibly emotional when discussing his admiration for senior guard Christano Bitee who went through a shooting slump in the WAC Tournament before coming online in the last few games, including scoring 22 points in the loss to Oregon.

"The kid shot out of his mind," Mohammed said after the game.

Bitee was part of a pivotal recruiting class that included All-WAC selection Ira Holloway, Isaac Ridnour and Marko Mance who all played pivotal roles in Nevada making it to back-to-back Sweet Sixteen's in the last two seasons before breaking through.

While the Wolfpack primarily focused on recruiting the West Coast, Bitee hailed from Cameroon and after spending much of his recruitment expecting to sign with the Miami Hurricanes, the offer never came and in came Nevada and Mohammed. Bitee would be joined by his younger brother, Chris, two years later who figures to have a more prominent role with the graduation of Bitee and others.

Even with the departure of Bitee, Holloway, Mance and Ridnour, the cupboard isn't bare for Nevada. While his last few minutes on the court against Oregon weren't ideal, Manourou Chavis -- who is of Cameroon descent as well -- has all the makings of a future superstar as he heads into his sophomore season along with center Armando Michaud, who was the team's best player at times in the tournament.

B.A. Barber likely slides into that two-guard spot left vacant by Bitee, opening the door for four-star incoming freshman Dante Jack to potentially start at one of the forward spots. The Wolfpack are in need of more big bodies with the departure of Holloway, Mance and Ridnour but that's one area that Mohammed -- if he does return -- has shown he's able to reload at on a yearly basis.

And if he doesn't and this is the end of the road for this era of Wolfpack basketball, it was a great one.
