Breaking News: Mohammed to return as Nevada head coach, turns down offer from Florida State and others
Jerry Howard -- Reno Gazette Journal Sports Writer

Nevada head coach Isaiah Mohammed will indeed remain Nevada's head coach, announcing to the team and the rest of his coaching staff on Wednesday that he will be staying in Reno.

Mohammed interviewed with Florida State's athletic department on Tuesday and was initially scheduled to interview with Washington State and Gonzaga later this week but reportedly cancelled the trip short and returned to Nevada on Tuesday night.

Mohammed was viewed as a top candidate to replace Leonard Hamilton at Florida State and if not the Seminoles, many pegged Mohammed as the top replacement for Mark Few at Gonzaga who took the head coaching job at DePaul.

Wolfpack reload with impressive recruiting class, eyes return to the Final Four
Elton Hunter -- Reno Gazette Journal Sports Writer

Nevada entered the offseason recruiting period with already having signed the program's highest ranked prospect under Isaiah Mohammed's leadership, with four-star Dante Jack signing with the team back in December.

They were able to supplement the splashy signing of Jack with some additional prospects in big men Arthur Corner and Ramod Holloway along with Las Vegas guard Wilder Farley.

Corner fits the mold of a Mohammed big man at six-foot-ten and a sturdy 242 pounds with a nice touch on his shot which extends to the three-point line. He'll need to improve his conditioning as well as do a better job of staying out of foul trouble and being a more disciplined defender.

While Corner might compare to Ira Holloway in terms of playing style, Ramod Holloway is actually related to the former Wolfpack as they are cousins with Ira playing a major part in Ramod's decision to come to Nevada.

The younger Holloway is a big ball of clay at this point in his development with not much of a game right now outside of run, jump, dunk and block. He'll be the perfect backup center to Armando Michaud who projects to be one of the best centers in the WAC next season.

Replacing Christano Bitee on the roster but likely not in the lineup is Farley who is a decent shooter and capable enough as a lead guard to be considered a combo guard. At six-foot-one, he's a bit undersized to play the two which is a more natural fit for him and his skillset.

Farley could potentially redshirt this season if he's unable to beat out Andriel Henson and Chris Bitee for that fourth guard spot.
