It's a long term pulled hamstring but looks like he's going to be able to play through it thankfully

Isaiah Mohammed confirms hamstring injury for star center Armando Michaud, expects to play in WAC Championship
Jerry Howard -- Reno Gazette Journal Sports Writer

In a one-sided WAC Semi Finals matchup, the Nevada Wolfpack blew out the Hawai'i Rainbow Warriors to advance to their fifth consecutive WAC Championship Game.

However, the spotlight fell on Nevada’s seven-foot-two center, Armando Michaud, who suffered a hamstring injury during the game. Despite the setback, Michaud displayed incredible resilience and determination to finish the game with 18 points and 8 rebounds.

After the game, Nevada head coach Isaiah Mohammed confirmed that Michaud’s injury was day-to-day and that the center has 'tweaked his hamstring'. Despite the uncertainty, the team remained optimistic about his availability for the upcoming WAC Championship Game against New Mexico State.

Manourou Chavis, Nevada Wolfpack eye potential rematch with Nevada
Jerry Howard -- Reno Gazette Journal Sports Writer

Nevada sophomore guard Manourou Chavis scored eleven points in the national championship game last year as a true freshman but it's the six points that he didn't score with back-to-back missed threes that have stayed with him throughout this season as the Wolfpack look to repeat their magical run from last season and this time, finish the job.

Ever since the bracket reveal, the Wolfpack have not shied away from the fact that they are glad to be in the same West Region as the Oregon Ducks, offering a chance to avenge last year's lost in the title game.

"We have to get there first," Nevada head coach Isaiah Mohammed told the media when asked about the potential rematch, "They do as well and it's a bunch of tough teams that are going to make it difficult for both teams but we'd be lying if we said its not something that we wish happens."

The earliest the teams could meet is the Elite Eight with Nevada opening up with a matchup against Rhode Island with the Wolfpack being a popular upset pick as a twelve-seed over a Rhode Island team that lacks depth and size inside. If they do get past Rhode Island, they avoid potentially play top seed Florida until the Sweet Sixteen and will instead face off against either Texas or Idaho State.
