I know you haven't even posted a game yet but what do you think of the roster? Do you think you'll be looking to make any moves? What are your best scoring options off the bench?

Aww man bro, just like real life, this team has NO depth at all. The default roster has some lacking players, BUT there's a creator (I believe) who updated player models and ratings that I need to download before starting. So let me start with best scoring options off the bench. Without a question, it's Devean George. Him and Brian Shaw will take up the majority of backup guard minutes. I liked Kareem Rush in real life, but not sure how he will be in 2K. But hopefully my backup spots 1 through 3 are solid there.

This roster is championship-ready solely because of the Kobe Shaq duo. That's 60 points per game and exceptional defense between them right there. The real life stories and drama from this team during this era were incredible, so I'm hoping to recapture the timeline, emotion, and overall culture in this.

Roster moves.. definitely could use a vet or two at the deadline to bolster the depth. Someone who can knock down a three behind Horry or a mid-range shooter who can plug into Kobe's spot in the triangle would be helpful.

LAKERS: Shaquille O’Neal Undergoes Successful Foot Surgery
September 11, 2002 | Lakers.com Staff

Image EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- Los Angeles Lakers center Shaquille O’Neal underwent successful foot surgery it was announced today.

O’Neal’s surgical procedure, known as a cheilectomy, consisted of the removal of bone spurs that have caused pain and restricted the joint motion in his right foot.

The surgery was performed this morning at UCLA by Dr. Robert Mohr, Chief of the Division of Podiatric Surgery and his team at the University Podiatry Group. Recovery and rehabilitation time for O’Neal is expected to be approximately six to eight weeks.

"He was deciding what to do, and was getting some conflicting opinions,'' Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak said. "When he finally made the decision, he was completely comfortable with it.''

O’Neal, a nine-time All-NBA selection, has led the Lakers to three consecutive NBA Championships. During the recently completed 2001-02 season, O’Neal averaged 27.2 points and 10.7 rebounds and was named NBA Finals Most Valuable Player for the third consecutive season.

Instead of trying to sign a big man to fill in for O'Neal, Kupchak said the Lakers probably will use forwards Samaki Walker and Stanislav Medvedenko at center until O'Neal returns, and that the team might even go with a small lineup at times.
