I mean Horry fouled out, Fox and Fisher couldn't hit water if they were on a boat in the middle of the pacific, and they have the Twin Towers plugging up the middle. In real life Kobe and Shaq would be 25-30 points apiece and Fish should get 10-15 most nights, but besides that, this was pretty on par for this roster

Tough with Timmy in the middle but hopefully you can get some production inside against weaker opponents.

Probably the best team in the league along with Sacramento at this point, but like you said, really hard to get production on the inside vs these guys. We've got some games coming up against Portland and the Clippers before I hit the sticks again vs Boston... 'Toine and Vin Baker should be a little easier to work against in the paint.

That's what I'm going to aim for too. It's been a year and I've only done three seasons, so I'm trying to find a way to speed it up, experimenting with some different layouts. Games should take the backseat...

Especially with these retro chises, I feel like there was a lot less "political correctness" and no social media, so the stories were more dramatic. It's fun to uncover some of those behind-the-scene narratives. I mean, there hasn't been a villain in the NBA since Bron joined Miami... I miss having someone to root against irl.

LAKERS: Kobe Sets Season-High Record, Breaks It Two Games Later

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- It certainly hasn't been easy for the Los Angeles Lakers without it's perennial all-star center Shaquille O’Neal, but it has made for an interesting development for the young All-NBA guard Kobe Bryant.

Bryant, who holds a career-high of 56 points -- a record he set last season against the Vancouver Grizzlies in a random January game -- set a league-high 51 points in a win against the Los Angeles Clippers for the team's first win after two straight losses.

"That kid doesn't like to lose," said Lakers coach Phil Jackson of Bryant's performance and team's first victory. "I support him taking those tough shots because, quite frankly, he makes a lot of them. Especially with Shaq out. We're missing him."

The Black Mamba took the team's next game, a loss, to heart and in turn broke his 51-point outing with a 52-point performance against Cleveland just a few nights later to will his team to its second win.

"I'm just doing what I have to do for us to win," said Bryant.

It's still going to be another week or two before O'Neal makes his return to the court, so the Lakers are heavily leaning on Bryant to keep them afloat in the meantime.

In related news, reports are surfacing around noting Shaquille O'Neal's timing of his surgery and is facing heavy criticism for not proceeding with it earlier in the summer to be ready in time for the season. News on that to follow.

As of now, the Lakers stand at 2-3 with a rivalry game against the Boston Celtics on tap.
