Good start to the season. What are your long term goals? Going all out to win with what time LeBron has left or starting a transition?

I'm going to see if I can get at least one more ring with LeBron, but at the same time transitioning into life without him. I still think that he can play at a high level for another 2 or 3 years at best. I will try to look at the landscape and see who out there would be a good fit to compliment AD as LeBron fades into the sunset.

Lakers late game execution is key difference in victory over Clippers

Win snaps 11 game losing streak to locker room rivals

Recap of Clippers/Lakers game played on November 1, 2023

1st Quarter
The Lakers jumped out to an early six-point lead, 11-5 following a layup by Anthony Davis, but the Clippers responded with a 20-11 run to finish out the first quarter with a three-point lead, 25-22 behind Paul George, who hit three three-pointers in the quarter.

2nd Quarter
Paul George continued his scoring punch to start the quarter, knocking down two three-pointers and giving the Clippers their biggest lead of the game, eight points 31-23. LeBron James scored seven of the next ten Laker points, leading them on a 10-2 run to tie the game up 33-33. Paul George hit his sixth three-pointer of the game during the Clippers 8-0 run that pushed their lead back up to eight points, 41-33. Russell Westbrook jumper at the end of the second quarter gave the Clippers a 52-48 lead headed into halftime.

3rd Quarter
The Lakers came out in the second half with a more aggressive defensive mindset that allowed them to get some easy baskets and also reclaim the lead 57-56 on a Cam Reddish three-pointer. The Lakers increased their lead to six points after a layup by LeBron James, 71-65, but P.J. Tucker knocked down back-to-back three-point shots to tie the game up 71-71. Both teams traded baskets and Austin Reaves layup beat the buzzer to end the quarter and tie the game up 77-77.

4th Quarter
Russell Westbrook's three-point basket early on in the fourth gave the Clippers a five-point lead, 88-83, but the Lakers responded with a quick 7-2 run to tie the game up 90-90. D'Angelo Russell scored the next five points, giving the Lakers a 95-90 lead. This time the Clippers responded with a 7-2 run of their own, tying the game up 97-97 on a jumpshot by Kawhi Leonard. Holding on to a two-point lead 101-99 Kawhi Leonard's jumpshot to tie the game fell short and Anthony Davis hit a turn around jumper on the baseline to seal the victory. Austin Reaves hit a three-pointer with 12 seconds left in the game to clinch it. The Lakers snapped an eleven game losing streak to the Clippers with a final score, 106-99.

1st Quarter
The Magic took the early lead in the game thanks in large part ot Paolo Banchero, who was lights out from the perimeter in the quarter. Hitting a jumpshot midway through the first quarter gave the Magic a three-point lead, 17-14, but the Lakers answered back quickly thanks to second year guard Max Christie who came in late in the quarter, but scored five quick points, giving the Lakers a 29-26 lead at the end of the quarter.

2nd Quarter
The two teams exchanged the lead several times to start the quarter. Franz Wagner kept the Magic close with his outside shooting, scoring 9 of his 11 points in the quarter outside of the paint. Anthony Black gave the Magic a four-point lead at halftime, 50-46.

3rd Quarter
Paolo Banchero got off to a quick start in the third like he did in the first as the Magic and Lakers went back and forth during the third quarter. The Lakers took a 65-60 lead on an Austin Reaves three-pointer, but the Magic responded with a 14-5 run of their own to tie the game and then take the lead 74-70. The Lakers recaptured the lead thanks to LeBron James and led at the end of the quarter, 79-77.

4th Quarter
Franz Wagner hit two free throws to tie the game up 81-81, but on the next Lakers possession Christian Wood knocked down a three-pointer and the Lakers never surrendered the lead again. The Magic got the lead down to two points, but the Lakers had an answer for them. Paolo Banchero's three-pointer cut the Lakers lead to a single basket, 101-99, but Austin Reaves answered with a three-pointer of his own, giving the Lakers a five-point lead, 104-99. On the next Lakers possession Max Christie knocked down a three-pointer, giving the Lakers an eight-point lead 107-99. A layup by Jalen Suggs cut the Lakers lead down to a single point, 108-107, but Max Christie knocked down two big free throws with under 30 seconds left and the Lakers went on to defeat the Magic 112-109.

1st Quarter
The Los Angeles Lakers jumped out to a quick start over the Heat. The Lakers hit three three-pointers on their first four baskets, including back-to-back by LeBron James for a quick 11-3 lead. Later in the quarter D'Angelo Russell hit back-to-back three-pointers putting the Lakers up 27-19 and then another late in the quarter giving the Lakers a 30-22 lead. The first quarter ended up the Lakers up by six, 32-26.

2nd Quarter
The Lakers extended their lead twice in the second quarter to eight points, but the Miami Heat did not faulter. Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler led the charge that saw the Heat erase the Lakers eight point lead go up by as many as four points in the quarter, 50-46. The Lakers closed out the first half on back-to-back three-pointers by Austin Reaves, retaking the lead, 54-50.

3rd Quarter
The Lakers opened the third quarter on back-to-back three-pointers by D'Angelo Russell and LeBron James, giving them their biggest lead of hte game, ten points, 60-50. The Lakers extended their lead to fourteen points, 64-50 early on in the quarter. Following a three-pointer by Taurean Prince, the Lakers had a thirteen-point lead 73-60. LeBron James made it 77-65 following a layup, but the Miami Heat battled back thanks to the outside shooting of Duncan Robinson, Tyler Herro and Josh Richardson. The trio led a 16-7 Heat run to end the quarter and pull to within three points, 84-81.

4th Quarter
The Heat recaptured the lead in the fourth quarter on a Tyler Herro three-pointer, 96-94 and extended that lead on three free throws by Tyler Herro a few minutes later, 105-100. The Lakers tied the game up 105-105, but Jimmy Butler gave the Heat the lead on a baseline jumper, 107-105. LeBron James would tie the game with a slam dunk, 107-107 and on the next Lakers possession Taurean Prince hit a three-pointer that gave the Lakers a three-point lead 110-107. Down by two points, Jimmy Butler drove to the basket looking for a foul, but instead converted on the layup and tied the game, 113-113. LeBron James scored on the Lakers next possession and Christian Wood knocked down one of two free throws to give the Lakers a 116-113 lead with less than 10 seconds to play. Tyler Herro's three-point attempt came up short, but Bam Adebayo came up with the rebound and putback with just two seconds left and the Heat were forced to foul to stop the clock. LeBron James stepped up to the free throw line for two shots and only 0.8 seconds left on the clock. James hit the first one and with the Heat out of timeouts James intentionally missed the second free throw , securing the win for the Lakers 117-115.
