The Minnesota Timberwolves got seven quick points from Jordan McDaniels, giving the Wolves a 7-3 lead. Down 17-9, the Lakers got six straight points from forward Rui Hachimura to bring the Lakers to within two, 17-15. Spencer Dinwiddie scored four of the Lakers last six points giving them a 23-22 lead but Anthony Edwards layup at the end of the quarter gave the Wolves a 24-23 lead.

The Lakers opened the game wide open thanks to LeBron James. James knocked down three three-pointers in the quarter and the team knocked down six in the quarter. James final three-pointer of the quarter gave the Lakers a fifteen point lead, 51-36. James' layup just before the end of the quarter pushed the Lakers lead to twenty-one, 58-37 and the Lakers took a twenty-one point lead into halftime, 60-39.

The Wolves cut the Lakers lead down to eleven on a jumpshot from Luka Garza, 71-60. The Lakers managed to keep their lead in double digits at the end of the third, 76-64.

The Timberwolves continued to cut into the Lakers lead as the fourth quarter started. Following a slam dunk by Luka Garza, the Wolves had got the deficit down to single digits, 80-72. LeBron James scored the next six Laker points, pushing the lead back to eleven, 86-75. Mike Conley hit a jumpshot that brought the Wolves within seven points, 88-81, but a layup by LeBron James and a three-pointer by D'Angleo Russell increased the lead to twelve, 95-83. The Lakers were able to hold off any Timberwolves run and closed the game out with 105-95 victory.
