The Los Angeles Lakers felt like they had one slip away tonight in Dallas. With the series tied 2-2, it was going to take a full team effort from the whole Laker squad and they felt like they did that, but it just was not enough in the end. For the Mavericks, they didn't need a full team effort because they had two superstars who were due for a big game on the same night. Game five was that night. Luka Doncic scored 41 points and Kyrie Irving scored 39 points (the two scored 80 of the Mavs 109) leading the Mavericks to a game five victory over the Lakers, 109-105. Doncic scored 20 points in the first quarter alone while Irving scored 28 in the second half. The Lakers will be facing elimination for the first time since they played the Sacramento Kings in the final play-in game. If the Lakers can get a game six victory they will force and game seven back in Dallas.
