Can't Ban the Snowman: The Legend of Tony Snow
NOTES & QUOTES
Heat Starting Five: Antonio Snow, Josh Richardson, Dwyane Wade, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Hassan Whiteside
Summary: The San Antonio Spurs have been on a slow fall in their quest to make the playoffs. The Spurs’ 5-game win streak was snapped by Portland two nights ago and unfortunately, a new streak isn’t starting any time soon.
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist struggled in this contest. He shot 2 of 8 from the field. Fortunately, the Heat were still able to stay ahead of the game. Carmelo Anthony had another great night. He led Miami’s bench efforts with 13 points.
Miami was scoring buckets on buckets as they seemed to run away with another win. San Antonio went on a 10-0 scoring run to cut the lead to single digits in their fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough to stop the Heat from picking up win number 49.
Key Stats for MIA: 46/95 (48%) - FG|9/9 (100%) - FT |26 – Fastbreak Points|50 – Points in Paint|15 – Second Chance Points|42 – Bench Points|28 – Assists| 48 – Rebounds|12 - Turnovers
Key Stats for SA: 37/72 (51%) - FG|19/26 (73%) - FT |16 – Fastbreak Points|54 – Points in Paint|9 – Second Chance Points|24 – Bench Points|19 – Assists|30 – Rebounds|8 - Turnovers
Carmelo Anthony on scoring output: I’m just trying to do my part, you know? We’re trying to get these wins. We’re coming together at a great time in the season.
Gregg Popovich on the Spurs struggles: It’s a process, as always. We have about 9 games left in the season. We’re still in contention.
Erik Spoelstra on Hassan Whiteside'a dominating performance: He was in a zone tonight. This is what he’s capable of. No surprises for us here.

I like playing with Melo. That 3-pointer on the break is money. May have to move Josh Richardson to the 2 and slide Melo into the starting lineup for the playoffs.
And Whiteside just does what he does
