Heat Starting Five: Antonio Snow, Josh Richardson, Carmelo Anthony, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Hassan Whiteside
Summary: Miami lost their last match up against Boston in spectacular fashion, get blown out by 15 points. Tonight’s loss was much worse as they actually stood a chance at defeating the Celtics in the Garden.
By the numbers, rookie Antonio Snow and Kyrie Irving are giving the same effort for their respective teams. Irving is averaging 22.5 points per game and Snow a reputable 21.5 points per game. But only one point guard would emerge victorious tonight.
Irving came out on fire as he scored 11 unanswered point in the first quarter as the Celtics took a 15-3 lead. This was the beginning of what was going to be another legendary scoring night for Irving. After Miami called a timeout Snow seemed to realize that this was an actual game and managed to cut Boston’s lead to 1 point. The Celtics went on another run to give themselves a 50-55 lead at halftime.
Josh Richardson struggled to get shots off as he was being defended by Jaylen Brown and Kyrie Irving and different points in the game, he managed to get a few shots off in the third quarter, but it wasn’t enough.
The Heat finally took an 8 point lead in the fourth quarter, but it didn’t last long. Kyrie was on fire as he scored another 17 points in the fourth quarter as they edged Miami for their 26th win.
