Summary: Before this series started, Antonio Snow said he wanted to win this championship for Carmelo Anthony. 48 minutes later, he was able to do just that. Not without a little help from Anthony himself who finished with 12 points, three rebounds, and two assists in the last game of his NBA career. The question for the Lakers tonight was who was going to step up beside LeBron James and save them from being eliminated on the road in Game 5? Lonzo Ball answered the bell finishing with 18 points, but it wasn’t enough to stop Miami from taking a big win. The way Miami played tonight, you would have thought they were the team on the brink of elimination. They played tight defense, forcing the Lakers into 13 turnovers, which netted them 15 points. Miami scored 72 points in the paint and their bench scored 50 points to help seal the win. Antonio Snow affected all facets of the game tonight finishing with another double-double in points and assists as he was named Finals MVP again. With 90 seconds left in regulation and the win in hand, Erik Spoelstra allowed Anthony and Tony Parker to play out the final minute and a half of their NBA careers.

Carmelo Anthony retiring a champion: Two time Champion. It feels amazing. Who doesn’t want the last game of their career to be a championship game? We all come into the NBA with dreams of making it, but then once you make it you want to be a winner. You want to solidify your legacy. And not to say that my career before coming to Miami wasn’t great, but this is just the best icing on the world’s biggest cake.

Antonio Snow on winning his second championship: Feels good. Feels damn good. We faced off against the best player in the NBA right now. This was huge. I’m proud of all those guys back there. They worked for this. We worked for this. It’s sweet.

Heat Coach Erik Spoelstra on Miami’s defense: We took advantage of very opportunity that was afforded to us. That was part of the plan. Don’t waste any opportunities. We managed to get a lot of points off turnovers and that made up half the difference in the score.

LeBron James on losing in the Finals: It never gets any easier. I can take comfort in knowing that I gave it everything I had in this series. But it still sucks to lose. I tried to pull my teammates along as best I could and some guys did step up, but it wasn’t enough to stop them. They were on fire. We’ll go back to the drawing board and try to get here again next year.
