Pacers Make Deal For Michael Kidd-Gilchrist Amid Upcoming Free Agency Intentions

The Michael Kidd-Gilchrist era in Charlotte has come to an end as the Pacers have him along with Dwayne Bacon in exchange for TJ McConnell, Doug McDermott, the Pacers' 2022 1st Round Pick, and the Bucks' 2021 2nd Round Pick.

The now 26 year old Kidd-Gilchrist is an 8-year veteran. He's in his final year of his contract and he'd lost his starting role in Charlotte going back to last season. MKG told the Hornets' front office he did not intend to resign with the team this summer, at least giving them a heads up they can acquire something in exchange for his departure.

The Pacers decided to make the offer as a defensive-minded stopper like Kidd-Gilchrist will fit in perfectly with the Pacers' play style.

His resigning price may be out of reach for the Pacers this upcoming free agency, so he may only be around for this season.
