I think if you are in a close game you got it with Chapman closing. Just gotta make sure you get your offense going and don't give up too many runs.
yeah...bout dat :shook:

You leaned too hard on the starters this year.

I don't even think we could beat the Dodgers. Only three guys are hitting above .300 and they're striking out like 12 times per game, but scrapping it together when necessary

With World Series Berth Looming, All Eyes Are On Garrett Crochet

Image

Boston, MA. - The Seattle Mariners were never expected to be here. Entering the ALCS, most betting outlets projected a comfortable 4–1 series win for the Boston Red Sox. And when Garrett Crochet overpowered Seattle with 11 strikeouts in Game 4 — while Luis Castillo didn’t survive the first inning — the series seemed to be tilting hard in Boston’s direction. A 3–1 lead looked inevitable.

Instead, the entire postseason script flipped. Seattle erupted for six runs in a stunning ninth-inning rally in Game 4, keeping the series alive. Boston responded with a businesslike Game 5 win to send the series back to Fenway Park needing one more victory. But the margin for error had evaporated.

In Game 6, Brayan Bello delivered five gritty innings on four days’ rest, scattering seven hits and striking out nine to protect a 2–1 lead. It wasn’t dominant, but it was enough to hand the bullpen a winnable game.

Half an inning later, the Red Sox were staring at a 6–2 deficit they never escaped. Suddenly, the Mariners — written off at nearly every stage — are the team playing with house money, with a trip to the World Series suddenly within reach.

Game 7 now brings two pitchers with something to prove.

Castillo returns on full rest, fueled by the memory of his disastrous Game 4 outing. Seattle views it as a reset — their ace back in rhythm, their season no longer hanging by a thread.

Boston counters with Crochet, who will take the mound for the third time this series and on short rest for just the second time in his career. The AL MVP and Cy Young winner didn’t hesitate when asked about the workload.

“It’s the playoffs — this is what you do,” Crochet said. “Short rest, you give everything you can and then some. I’m preparing like when I was in the bullpen: take the ball and pitch until coach takes it from me.”

Manager Alex Cora confirmed Crochet will start, but Boston is bracing for an all-hands-on-deck scenario. Tanner Houck, Hunter Dobbins, and even George Kirby — despite throwing in Game 5 — are expected to be available.

“Everyone except Brayan is ready to go,” Cora said. “And in a pinch, even he could see the ball.”

It’s a winner-take-all game neither club expected a week ago. Now, it’s the only thing that matters.
