Nope, kept it on All-Star and it has been playing well. So I guess it got worse :drose:

Burleson sent down as Wainwright returns
Image
St. Louis, MO - The St. Louis Cardinals received another boost as veteran pitcher Adam Wainwright made his much-anticipated return to the team after a stint on the injured list. Wainwright, who had been sidelined due to a torn hamstring, is eager to rejoin his teammates and continue his impressive career in the Cardinals' rotation.

Wainwright's return comes at a critical time for the Cardinals, as they look to solidify their pitching staff and make a push for a postseason berth. The seasoned right-hander brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the team, making him a valuable asset on and off the field.

Prior to his injury, Wainwright had been enjoying a solid season, demonstrating his enduring effectiveness. In 17 starts, he had amassed a 8-6 record with a commendable 4.11 ERA for a 41 year old. His presence on the mound had provided stability to the Cardinals' rotation, and his return is expected to bolster the team's chances of success down the stretch.

However, in order to make room for Wainwright on the active roster, the Cardinals made the decision to send down outfielder Alec Burleson to AAA. Burleson had been making a name for himself during his time with the team, showcasing his hitting prowess with a .253 batting average, 5 home runs, and 18 RBIs on the season.

The decision to send Burleson down to AAA was a difficult one, as the young outfielder had made significant contributions during his time with the Cardinals. His solid hitting and versatility in the outfield had impressed both the coaching staff and fans alike. Nonetheless, the move was necessary to ensure the team's overall depth and to accommodate Wainwright's return.

Manager Oliver Marmol acknowledged the difficult decision and praised Burleson's performance. "Alec has shown great promise during his time with the team, and we believe he has a bright future ahead of him," Marmol stated. "Sending him down to AAA is a temporary move, and we expect to see him back in the lineup in the near future."

The Cardinals' management remains confident in their decision, recognizing the importance of having a veteran presence like Wainwright back in the rotation. With his wealth of experience and ability to pitch effectively in high-pressure situations, Wainwright is set to provide stability and guidance to the pitching staff.

As Wainwright takes the mound once again, fans are eagerly anticipating his performances and the impact he will have on the team's postseason aspirations. The Cardinals will look to capitalize on Wainwright's return, utilizing his leadership and expertise to navigate the challenges that lie ahead.

While Burleson's temporary departure is a tough break for the young outfielder, it serves as a testament to the depth and competitiveness within the Cardinals' organization. As he continues his development in AAA, Burleson will have the opportunity to refine his skills and prepare for his return to the major league roster.

As the season progresses, the Cardinals will rely on the leadership of Wainwright and the continued growth of their young talents to make a push for success. With Wainwright back in the rotation and Burleson honing his skills in the minor leagues, the Cardinals remain committed to their pursuit of a successful campaign.

Best game I have had in the Show with any pitcher this season. I was locked in, it felt great. Mikolas is in strong contention for my best pitcher this season and he has been putting up great starts lately even in the sim.

I was in the zone and working these guys left and right. I find pitching to be a lot more fun these days than hitting.
