Certainly. Also leaves the door wide open for Palis to finish the season with the most goals scored with Esther finished with 20Captain Canada wrote: ↑29 Apr 2025, 10:25With Gotham down, sure looks like your path gets a little easier no?
Last game against Portland was a draw so we have to make sure we pull out the win in time. My GK skills against penalty kicks is damn near non existent
I can’t find any way to practice unfortunately-

The GOAT of season 2. Ella muhfuckin Palis. I don't know if the game acknowledges The Golden Boot award to top scorer, but it says she's the top one here with 20.
I did some research & found out that the NWSL's playoff stats are not included with regular season stats, so she won't break the NWSL scoring record of 21. 2nd best all-time though.

Not sure if Kosovare Asllani will be back with us next season. She's still under contract for 1 more year, however she was 'contemplating retirement' in the playoffs of season 1 & still is through season 2. FC25 has changed her Player Status to 'A Player for the History Books', which means retirement is near.
She's definitely a legend in this chise for her impact thus far & even though Palis was on a scoring rampage, Asllani still finished 5th in the NWSL.

Newcomer Erëleta Memeti scored her first goal joining Racing Louisville FC at the 88' mark. I'm looking forward to giving her a bigger role in season 3, as she joined us mid-season during the summer transfer window. Talk about speed

Shoutout to the season 2 squad. I'm going to go out & play my best version during these playoffs but if we come up short, I really enjoyed this season.

Can Lightning Strike Thrice? Racing Louisville Eyes First-Ever NWSL Final vs. Defending Champs Kansas City Current

In the world of soccer, the margins are razor-thin. A moment of brilliance. A late-game surge. One star player rising above the rest. For Racing Louisville FC, that moment has belonged to Ella Palis—not once, but twice this season against the reigning NWSL champions.
Now, with a spot in the 2025 NWSL Championship Final on the line, Racing Louisville faces a familiar foe: Kansas City Current, the defending titleholders and playoff veterans. But the history between these two sides in 2025 tells a different story—one that has belonged entirely to Racing.
Twice Beaten. Twice Burned.
Racing Louisville stunned Kansas City twice during the regular season, both times in dramatic 3-2 victories. The common denominator? Ella Palis, the league’s Golden Boot winner and breakout superstar.
On May 25, it was Palis who delivered the crushing blow in the 88th minute, threading the needle past KC's back line to snatch the game-winning goal. On September 7, she did it again—this time in the 89th minute—sealing another 3-2 thriller. In both matches, Palis played the role of executioner, while KC were left wondering how to contain the most dangerous player in the league.
“Some players shrink under pressure,” Racing head coach Filipa Patão said after the September win. “Ella thrives in it. That’s what makes her special.”
Palis finished the season atop the scoring charts with 20 goals and 6 assists, and her performances against Kansas City have become legendary within the Racing Louisville fanbase.
The Stakes: Everything.

While Racing is riding high and dreaming big, this is a Kansas City side built for October. The Current captured their first NWSL title in 2024, & behind the leadership of veterans like Debinha, Géraldine Reuteler, and the tactical acumen of head coach Vlatko Andonovski, the club is hopeful to win their second straight title. Their playoff pedigree is no joke—and they’ve been here before.
“Playoffs are a different beast,” Andonovski said this week. “We respect what Racing has done this year, especially Ella. But we’re not here to relive the past. We’re here to defend our crown.”
But Racing, a club still seeking its first-ever appearance in the NWSL Championship, isn’t content being a footnote in someone else's title defense. With homegrown momentum, a surging attack, and perhaps the league’s most clutch player, they believe this is their year.
Can Racing Make it 3-0?
It’s rare for a team to sweep a champion three times in a single season. But Racing has the chance to do just that—and on the biggest stage yet.
“We’ve done it twice,” Palis said confidently. “But now it’s about making history.”
Whether it’s a trilogy of heartbreak for Kansas City or the launchpad for Racing’s first trip to the final, the NWSL Semifinal clash promises high stakes, fierce intensity, and a potential legacy-defining performance for Ella Palis and Racing Louisville FC.
Kickoff is set for Saturday afternoon. History, heartbreak, or heroics—this one’s got it all.
