Racing Louisville Look to Go Back-to-Back Against Gritty KC Current.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The defending champions are 90 minutes away from doing it again.
After a near-flawless regular season and a dominant playoff run, Racing Louisville FC are one win away from claiming their second straight NWSL title. Under the composed tactical hand of head coach Filipa Patão, Louisville are not just defending champions—they’re a team in full bloom, peaking at the perfect time.
Their opponent? The battle-hardened and never-say-die Kansas City Current, who’ve punched above expectations all season and now stand as the final obstacle to Racing’s dynastic dreams.
Racing and Kansas City are no strangers this season:
March 21: Racing took a 3-1 victory at home, showing their firepower early.
October 15: The two sides battled to a tense 0-0 draw, with playoff positioning on the line.
KC finished 4th in the league (10W–13D–3L, 43 pts), proving themselves as the league’s great escape artists—tough to beat, resilient, and methodical. In the playoffs, they dispatched the Portland Thorns (2-1) and Washington Spirit (1-0) with discipline and patience.
Where Racing thrives on momentum and pace, KC slows things down, frustrates opponents, and strikes when the time is right. It’s a true clash of styles.
“They don’t give you an inch,” said Lehmann. “But we’re not here to take inches. We take everything.”
With one trophy already in the case, Racing has one more game to claim dynasty status.
Will the players rise to the challenge against the Current?

They can't fuck with the repeat. Run through them.
I don't think we left any disappointment with the results
