Racing Louisville Navigate Summer Window, Land Jule Brand Ahead of 2029
Louisville, KY — As the summer transfer window slammed shut, Racing Louisville FC made a series of moves designed to maintain their status as NWSL heavyweights under head coach Filipa Patão, now in her fifth season guiding the club.

The biggest change on the horizon is the upcoming departure of starting left back Maïté Boucly. The French defender, who signed with Racing in 2026 and helped anchor the back line during the club’s back-to-back championships, has agreed to join TSG Hoffenheim when her contract expires at the end of the season. Sources tell ESPN that Racing worked to keep Boucly in Louisville but ultimately could not come to terms on a new wage agreement.

The club also moved on from goalkeeper Alice Pinguet, transferring the 26 year old to SD Eibar for a $115,000 fee. Pinguet, who arrived in 2027, struggled for playing time behind first-choice keeper Regina van Eijk, who has held the No. 1 shirt since her arrival in the 2024 summer window.

To help offset Boucly’s looming departure, Racing signed veteran left back Jamie-Lee Napier on a free transfer. Napier inked a two-year deal worth $3,500 per week and is expected to compete for a starting role next season alongside Racing's RB Zoe Burns.

But the headline move of the summer was Racing’s long-term play for German international winger Jule Brand. The 25-year-old agreed to a five-year contract with a weekly wage of $7,000 and will join the squad in 2029 when her deal with Dijon FCO concludes. Brand is widely regarded as one of the top young attacking players in Europe and will reunite in Louisville with fellow Germans Sophia Kleinherne and Amira Dahl.
While Racing’s summer business was measured, the club remains focused on sustaining success and strengthening key positions for the years ahead. For Patão and her players, the mission is clear: stay on top of the NWSL and build the next great era in Louisville.

Let's hope a small changeup is enough to get this season together and get back to the top of the table

Yeah we've hit a bit of a rough patch recently. Surprised we're still in 2nd right now after 2 straight losses.

I wish that was a possibility but there's no create a player feature within this mode
Maybe on 26 though.

Portland and KC kind of on your bumper right now, I won't lie
Another draw doesn't help push us ahead of the pack either
