I appreciate everyone taking the time to stop by and check this out.

Just a brief background on this Master League. First off, I know that this isn't 100% realistic, my transfers are kind of wonky but it keeps the game challenging for me. Especially because over the 4 seasons I have played this I have only won one trophy and the highest I have finished in the league is 3rd with an 8th place finish last season. This will start off in the 5th season at the beginning of July. This 5th season will be a pivotal one for us. After last playing Champions League football in season 2, we have squeaked by twice to qualify for the Europe League. Somehow despite the worst league finish so far I was able to push and win the Europa League last season. This automatically qualified us for the Champions League. This will be big boost to the club that has been slowly declining over the seasons. I'll be interested in seeing how the squad handles this season. I hope you all enjoy this as I try to restore some of the former glory of my squad.

This is the link to my house rules. They are pretty brutal and not the most realistic but it keeps the game interesting for me.

I have a couple of additions to those.

I only buy players who have real faces, same with youth.

A new one I am adding is that a player must be kept past one transfer window after I sign him (aka one year) no matter who offers them and for what amount.

You can post now. I know this might seem a little disjointed but I kind of want to get this going. I'm going to give a roster breakdown as it currently is before the transfer window opens and then we will get to business.

With cash.

It’s funny there are definitely players who won’t sign for you but for some reason he was up for a transfer. I enjoyed having him on the team until someone better than me offered above his market value.

Tottenham Hotspur (1-0-0) vs. Huddersfield Town (0-0-1)

London, United Kingdom
August 22nd, 2023

Divock Origi continues to cement himself in the hearts of the Tottenham supports as the striker netted a brace to give Tottenham a win to open the 2023-2024 Premier League.

Origi's first goal came after Giovanni Lo Celso won the ball back on a high press and drove the ball forward to Origi. Origi laid the ball off to Steven Bergwijn but Bergwijn's shot was blocked by Huddersfield. The rebound landed it right at Origi's feet and the striker took no time in blasting the ball past the keeper on the near post to give Spurs the 1-0 lead in the 61st minute.

The second goal came off a good bit of possession play in the Huddersfield half when substitute Šime Vrsaljko put a cross towards Origi on the near post who blasted a header between the keeper and the post. That goal gave Tottenham the 2-0 advantage in the 83rd minute and would be the final scoreline.

Tottenham dominated the match out shooting Huddersfield 13-2 on shots and 8-0 to shots on target. Keeper Mike Maignan was untested in this match as he started off the season with a clean sheet.

This was Tottenham's first match without Christian Eriksen as the midfielder was sold off to Juventus earlier this week after coming back to Tottenham to win the Europa League last season and the UEFA Super Cup this month to boost his career opportunities. Tottenham also has recently purchased the contract of Max Aarons from Fulham but the right back was unavailable for this match.
