‣ Cardiff Making Moves for Welsh Players

With a recent commitment for Cardiff City to get more Welsh players into the squad they have made some recent moves to accomplish this goal.

Jonathan Williams is set to make the move to Cardiff in the summer after his contract with Charlton Athletic expires. The 26 year old Williams has 12 appearances in the EFL Championship this season and an average rating of 5.8.

Welsh Striker Hal Robson-Kanu is also set to join Cardiff in the summer on a free transfer. Robson-Kanu is 30 years old and has 3 goals in 6 appearances in the EFL Championship this season.

Lastly, Cardiff has bought left back Ben Williams, 20 years old, to give Joe Bennett a relief. Bennett has started and played every single match for Cardiff this season. Ben Williams comes in on 8 appearances and 1 assist in the EFL Championship.

‣ Transfer Rumors for Murphy and Mendez-Laing

Josh Murphy is rumored to be sitting out the next match against Swansea City due to a transfer being finalized with Vitoria Guimaraes. The Portuguese side has apparently bid £4.55 mil for the English midfielder. Murphy's currently working on finalizing a deal. Murphy has 3 goals and 7 assists in all competitions this season.

Fresh after scoring a double in the FA Cup there is apparently a bid in for Nathaniel Mendez-Laing from Red Bull Salzburg. The Austrian side are apparently still in negotiations with Cardiff and Mendez-Laing is expected to play in the match against Swansea City. Mendez-Laing has 5 goals and 3 assists in all competitions this season.

‣ Injuries Still Linger for Cardiff

Cardiff is still trying to recover from the injury bug that they have faced over the recent month. Midfielder Will Vaulks is still out for about a week following a broken toe. Midfielder Junior Hoilett still has about 2 weeks left in his recovery from a sprained knee. Lastly, forward Callum Paterson has about 3 weeks left in his recovery from a broken toe.

The increased fixture schedule has left Cardiff rotating players and changing formations to account for these injuries and may explain some of the poor results that have recently come.
