Declan Rice Returns to England from Fiorentina, this Time as a Wolverhampton Player

Image
Wolves have snagged one of England's top talents playing outside the country, inking 21-year-old defensive midfielder, Declan Rice to a £40K per week contract after sending £23.6M to Fiorentina for his services. Rice was last seen in England in a West Ham shirt, but left for Italy the last two years looking to grow his game. He's had the chance to become much more tactically astute playing in the more defensive and organized Serie A, and will look to bring that experience to Wolves' midfield. He figures to immediately step into the vacancy left at #6 by William Carvalho's departure.

Wolves Smash Club-Record to Sign Joao Felix for £47M Fee

Image
Those links with Jorge Mendes have paid off in a major way, as Wolves have landed the signature of one of the hottest U-21 talents in world football, Joao Felix. The 20-year-old Portuguese center forward will join Wolves from Benfica for £47,000,000, eclipsing the previous club transfer record fee paid for William Carvalho in 2019. Some may be surprised to see Wolves buy a striker after Dominic Calvert-Lewin won the Golden Boot last year with 30 premier league goals, but Calvert-Lewin was wasteful at times despite the goal tally. Additionally, some expect the two to play together in certain formations and wreak havoc on opposing defenses. This signing truly marks Wolves as one of the elite clubs in world football already, and Felix could be a key fixture in the side for the next decade.

Wolves Sell Conor Coady to Valencia

Image
Wolves have sold their 2018-19 captain, Conor Coady, to Valencia CF for £8,200,000. The English center-back had been bumped down to 4th in the pecking order with the arrival of Joe Gomez, and was desperate to find more regular first team appearances elsewhere.

Team is much stronger now. Probably only City has a better overall squad in England.
