Wolves Agree to Sell Ricardo Pereira to Liverpool for £47.6M

Image
Since a disgruntled Trent Alexander-Arnold left Liverpool for Tottenham Hotspur a year ago, the Reds have been struggling to find a replacement at right back. They now have one locked in after agreeing to pay a £47.6M fee to Wolverhampton for the services of Ricardo Pereira. The transfer window is currently closed, so the player will not join Liverpool until January, but they were desperate to bolster their roster after finishing just 9th last season and missing out on the Champions League. For Wolves, this is an interesting decision. While Pereira has been excellent for them at right-back, so has Irishman Matt Doherty. And with the club's most promising academy prospects, 17-year-old Elliot Moore, also ready to break through at the same position, they're well positioned to sell Pereira for a massive fee.

This is the largest fee recouped for a player in Wolves history, eclipsing the record of £40M set by the transfer of William Carvalho to Manchester City back in July. The club has done excellent business this year, now in the green in "net spend" despite having been able to bring in the likes of Sessegnon, Chilwell, Gomez, Rice, Fekir and Felix this summer.

Wolves Suffer Major Blow with Muric Injury

Image
Wolves have suffered a devastating blow as Arijanet Muric suffered a broken tibia in training and will miss the next four months due to the injury. Muric is the club's first choice keeper, and the only other option on the books is 16-year-old academy graduate, Liam Jackson. The teenager is going to have to grow up very quickly as he will be expected to start virtually every single match from now until February.

Wolves Agree Swap Deal with Atletico Madrid as Thomas Partey and Disgruntled Joao Felix Change Clubs

Image
It suffices to say that Joao Felix has not taken well to his new surroundings. Despite a hot start to the season, he was injured early on, and that injury was a result of poor and/or lazy training methods. Nuno has reportedly taken major issue with Felix's lackadaisical approach to training, and the youngster has also been a problem in a locker room, clearly upset by the incredible play of Calvert-Lewin in his absence. Felix has recently complained about the weather and culture in England, and Wolves brass have simply gotten fed up and decided to move him on despite him only joining the club just two months ago.

Atletico Madrid was highly interested in signing Joao Felix this summer and now they get their chance. Wolves will send Felix along with a £15M fee to the Spanish side in exchange for Thomas Partey. The Ghanaian is one of the best defensive midfielders in the world, and while Rice has been adequate there following the sale of William Carvalho, for a side like Wolves with Champions League aspirations, world-class is required. Additionally. Wolves have agreed to move on backup CDM Romain Saiss to Watford for £9M, so there will still be plenty of room in the rotation for Rice and Partey to share in January when these deals are all completed.
