Weekly Rewind Round 03 • United devilishly good to start the season; consecutive wins and clean sheets
epl.com/manchester-united/morningcoffee | August 25th, 2019

  • The scoreboard doesn't matter • Three games, 270 minutes. 3 goals, 0 conceded. This Manchester United team doesn't score a lot, but they aren't conceding either. deprives the opposition of possession which limits the chances they have. They rollocked Crystal Palace despite the subliminal 1-0 scoreline. It should have been at least 5-0.

  • Greenwood out for three weeks • Mason Greenwood is one of the up-and-coming talents in this Manchester United squad. He suffered a hyper extended knee injury and the medical doctors have ruled him out for three weeks. That will hurt United, as they planned to start Greenwood against Bristol City in the Carabao Cup.

Weekly Rewind Round 05 • Leicester hand Manchester United their first L of the 19/20 season
epl.com/manchester-united/morningcoffee | September 15th, 2019

  • Manchester came out flat today • The Red Devils looked flat today and they came out as such. Leicester won the battle of possession and Jamie Vardy's late goal (and sixth of the season) put the game away. United are still third behind Manchester City and Liverpool. Losing is never great, but at least United's hot streak can cool the talk of winning the league just yet. They face West Ham in their next game, which should return them to the winning column.

  • Anthony Martial to be benched? • After the game, the manager was asked whether Anthony Martial has been benched for the foreseeable future. The manager publicly admonished his striker that his poor performances aren't acceptable. Martial was always likely to leave Manchester United at the end of the season, his non-existent start to the season likely seals such a move. Odion Ighalo will be the starting striker going forward.

  • Players will be rested next week • United's manager indicated he will rest several players for the West Ham fixture, which will be played at London Stadium.

Tough loss to the Foxes but West Ham shouldn't be difficult.
