September 2006 | Smackdown! | Week 1

Xixak as the first man to ever hold the IC and US titles simultaneously.

Main Event: Xixak vs. Chris Jericho | One on One | Intercontinental & United States Championships

In the first main event since Summerslam, Xixak put both his US and IC titles on the line against Chris Jericho in a rematch. He was completely dominant in this one, basically walking over Jericho from the opening bell. He hit a Spear on Y2J, then followed that up with the Slingshot Lariat to nearly take his head off. A diving elbow from the top rope was enough from there to pick up the victory. Xixak wasn't done there though, he wanted to put an end to his feud with Jericho for good. He threw Jericho outside the ring after the match then hit the Curb Stomp on him on the hard concrete outside the ring, leaving Y2J incapacitated.

Benoit and Xixak argue over who should start their tag matchup.

Main Event: Chris Benoit & Xixak vs. Kevin Nash & Billy Gunn | Tag Team

Chris Benoit argued with Xixak at the beginning of the match, refusing to let Xixak start out the tag match as the legal man. Benoit tried to do things on his own showing no respect for the US/Intercontinental Champion, so Xixak just... let him. Benoit ended up getting his ass kicked by Nash, and while he was able to rally a bit, Nash eventually tagged in a fresh Billy Gunn who was able to hit a Famouser from the top rope to get the pinfall victory over Benoit.

Main Event: Chris Benoit vs. Xixak | One on One

Xixak attacked Chris Benoit as soon as he got into the ring for their one on one matchup, berating him for not respecting him last week during their tag match. Benoit was getting beaten up badly for most of the match from there on out, but things turned when Xixak went for the Curb Stomp and Benoit countered it. He quickly pounced and the Rabid Wolverine locked Xixak into the Crippler Crossface in the middle of the ring. There was nowhere for him to go so the US and IC champ was forced embarrassingly to tap out as Benoit celebrated a big victory over the champion.

Benoit beats up Xixak before his main event match with Orton.

Main Event: Xixak vs. Randy Orton | One on One

Randy Orton was set to take on Xixak in a match that if he won, he would claim the #1 contender's spot for the Intercontinental Championship in. But as Xixak made his way down the ramp he was attacked brutally from behind by Chris Benoit, his opponent from last week who had been informed earlier in the night that he was the #1 contender for the US title. Benoit beat the hell out of Xixak until officials came out to pull him off the champ, but the damage was done. Xixak made his way gingerly into the ring and was almost immediately RKO'd by Orton who picked up an easy victory to earn a #1 contenders spot. After the match, Benoit came out to confront Xixak again, laughing mockingly and Xixak lost it. He ran down the ramp and charged at Benoit as the two broke out into fisticuffs on the stage until six security guards came out to separate them. Xixak is now in real danger of losing both of his titles at Payback, and it's all because of Chris Benoit.
