Main Event: 30-Man Royal Rumble
Hogan and Eddie Guerrero kicked off the Royal Rumble with Cody Rhodes, Stone Cold, Santos Escobar, Seth Rollins and Rey Mysterio being the next set of entrants. It took a while for the first elimination to happen but it came through some cross team coordination with Hurricane and Cody Rhodes working together to send Stone Cold Steve Austin out over the top rope. Not long later, Seth Rollins eliminated another legend in Hollywood Hogan. Joaquin Wilde came out as entrant #9 meaning that the entirety of the lWO was in the ring. Cody Rhodes eliminated him not long later however. Another Rey Mysterio came out which caused confusion in the lWo with them wondering who the impostor was, causing them to go after both Mysterios despite being aligned with him in a faction. Roman Reigns entered at #11. Hurricane hit the Eye of the Hurricane on Santos Escobar before tossing him out over the top rope for an elimination, but it wasnt long before one of the Myserios sent him out over the top rope with a Hurracanrana. Eddie Guerrero was eliminated next, leaving none of the lWo members in the match except the... two Mysterios? Batista and Otis were the next two entrants in the matchup.
One of the Rey Mysterios was able to eliminate Cody Rhodes next shortly before John Cena joined the match to represent the nWo. Batista finally got one of the Mysterios out of the match, shortly before Rob Van Dam entered the fray at #15 signalling the half-way point of the Rumble. Roman Reigns was eliminated by Rey Mysterio, and Rob Van Dam wasn't in for long at all before getting hit with a Curb Stomp by Seth Rollins before being tossed over the top rope himself. Batista took Otis out of the match next, just after Otis' teammate Chad Gable entered at #16 and before Kevin Nash entered at #17. Scott Hall was out at #18 next to help his nWo buddies Cena and Nash, and he ended up putting an end to Seth Rollins' solid run in the rumble with an elimination. Next up was Jimmy Uso at #19, who quickly removed Chad Gable from the contest, and was followed by his brother Jey at #20. Jimmy ended up eliminating John Cena, but not long later Batista took his brother Jey out of the match almost as quickly as he'd come in. Triple H entered the matchup next. Rey Mysterio got another huge elimination, tossing Batista out of the match before we got a surprise legend return with Ultimate Warrior at #23, with The Fiend coming out later as the 24th entrant. The Fiend and Kevin Nash worked together to eliminate Randy Orton despite HHH's best efforts to help his stable-mate, with Jimmy Uso and Rey Mysterio being tossed out not long after as well.
We were coming up to the business end of the matchup now with The Undertaker entering at #25. We then got another surprise legend appearance with Jake "The Snake" Roberts coming in at #26. Triple H got a big elimination next sending out his former friend Kevin Nash. Undertaker then eliminated Triple, his own teammate The Fiend AND Jake Roberts to clear house before Xixak came out at #27. The final entrants to the Rumble were X-Pac, Mankind and Kane. It ended up being 3 on 2 with the Brothers of Destruction facing off against D-Generation X, but Xixak and X-Pac evened the odds quickly, using Kane's own momentum against him to eliminate him. They then split up with Undertaker taking on Xixak and X-Pac taking on Mankind. Pac hit an X-Factor on Mankind before throwing him out but Xixak was getting manhandled by Taker. He was about to get eliminated but X-Pac kicked Taker in the back of the head and the two worked together to toss him out of the match.
And then there were two. Xixak, X-Pac. Former tag team champions together. D-X stablemates. Close friends. The two stared each other down and then shook hands before facing off. X-Pac got the upper hand early, hitting Xixak with a high kick before trying to throw him out but Xixak countered and came back in. X-Pac went for the X-Factor but Xixak reversed it into an END OF DAYS. Pac was out cold and Xixak picked up his friend and gave him a hug before tossing him over the top rope to claim his Royal Rumble victory and a guaranteed spot in the main event at Wrestlemania.
