Introducing: Apollo Crews

Image
Naming yourself after a Greek god sets one hell of a bar, but it’s fair to say Apollo Crews may well clear it when all is said and done.

With an Olympian's physique and agility, the hulking Crews combines the raw power of The Ultimate Warrior with the agility of a top cruiserweight, confounding opponents with a ground-and-pound game and a dizzying aerial attack. He was already the proverbial five-tool player when he went from the independent scene to WWE NXT, and his astounding record at Full Sail sent the Georgia native to the main WWE roster within a year of his debut.

Almost immediately after his move to Monday Night Raw in the 2017 Superstar Shake-up, Crews was courted by Titus O'Neil, who wanted to sign the budding young prodigy to Titus Worldwide. He soon accepted the offer to become the first Superstar to join the brand, and the move paid dividends for Apollo, who captured several impressive victories on Team Red and even main-evented Raw in a gutsy showing against Braun Strowman. Although he came up short against the behemoth, Apollo looked like a Superstar who was born for the bright lights of the main event.

Recently he has seen a change in his character, reverting back to his Nigerian roots and taking on a more heelish persona as a superstar.

Introducing: Big E

Image
The word “Big” almost feels like an understatement when talking about Big E, but how else do you describe a 290-pound tank of a man who can deadlift a Fiat? “Superhuman” comes to mind, as does “Herculean.” “Big,” though, leaves no question about the type of punishment he dishes out inside the ring.

Long before he was chanting “New Day Rocks” with his New Day brethren, Big E was destined to command the spotlight. He was always the strongest kid in class — an advantage he used to win state championships in high school wrestling and punish quarterbacks on the defensive line for the University of Iowa.

When Big E signed with WWE, it looked like more punishment was on the menu for his opponents. That was the case as he bulldozed his way to the NXT Championship, then debuted on Raw and captured the Intercontinental Title. But it was after he joined forces with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods to form The New Day that the WWE Universe got to learn about the man behind the muscle. Incorporating The Power of Positivity, Big E revealed his fun-loving side, heralding The New Day’s arrival with his booming voice and never hesitating to shake his hips mid-match – before crushing his opponents with a devastating splash, of course.

Introducing: Bobby Fish

Image
Bobby Fish walks with the swagger of a world-class grappler, and why wouldn’t he? A universally feared ring veteran, Fish possesses a dangerous combination of talent and grit. And as a founding member of the now defunct but forever revered Undisputed ERA, Fish boasts a list of accomplishments that would make most NXT Superstars green with envy.

Yet, Fish was well on his way to greatness even before joining the black-and-gold brand. He devoted more than 15 years to developing his utterly unique fighting style, which incorporates elements of Muay Thai kickboxing and catch grappling. Along the way, Fish earned the respect of some of the squared circle’s most hardened greats, from his onetime trainer and WWE Hall of Famer Harley Race to the late Japanese icon Mitsuharu Misawa.

He also formed a potent and highly successful tag team with a scrappy young Canadian named Kyle O’Reilly, capturing titles in the U.S. and abroad. Little did anyone know it was only a glimpse of things to come.

Introducing: Bobby Roode

Image
Wherever Robert Roode goes, he makes sure everyone knows of his “glorious” ambitions.

Already a world-renowned Superstar by the time he joined NXT in July 2016, Roode promised from the beginning to bring the brand to new heights. He backed up his talk when he defeated Shinsuke Nakamura at TakeOver: San Antonio to win the NXT Championship, beginning an eight-month reign.

Having reached the peak of NXT, Roode turned his sights on WWE's main roster. Roode signed with SmackDown LIVE in the hopes of making Team Blue a little more glorious and immediately started a rivalry with Dolph Ziggler before capturing the vacant United States Championship in a tournament. Then, in the 2018 Superstar Shake-up, Roode came to Raw and won the Raw Tag Team Titles alongside Chad Gable. He later captured the championships again with Ziggler before moving to SmackDown in the 2019 WWE Draft, and the two will do everything they can to rule the blue brand after being selected by SmackDown in the 2020 WWE Draft.

Introducing: "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt

Image
The Superstar known as The Fiend seems to have stepped out of the collective population’s nightmares and into our reality. And though we may never know the full extent of his madness, what is certain is that he never forgets and is out to evoke an unmerciful reign of terror on all who dare let him in.

The Superstar known as Bray Wyatt, however, is seemingly much more lighthearted and regularly welcomes his fireflies in the WWE Universe to his Firefly Fun House. His friends, Mercy the Buzzard, Abby the Witch, Rambling Rabbit and Huskus the Pig Boy, are right there with him every step of the way as teaches the WWE Universe valuable lessons about sharing, friendship, and, occasionally, much more diabolical things.

In the dark recesses of Wyatt’s mind, he always seems to be lurking, and The Fiend has terrorized everyone in his sight since emerging in July 2019, all the way to capturing the Universal Championship on two separate occasions against formidable opponents in Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman.

Introducing: Cedric Alexander

Image
The hard-hitting Cedric Alexander has had one singular focus upon his arrival to WWE – kick to cause pain.

Alexander, best known for becoming a mainstay of the American independent scene over the past several years, has brushed elbows with some of WWE and NXT’s elite, including Kevin Owens, AJ Styles and Tommaso Ciampa, among others. In the inaugural WWE Cruiserweight Classic, Alexander wowed the WWE Universe with his striking skill, aerial ability and heart. The Charlotte native put in the performance of a lifetime against tournament favorite Kota Ibushi in the Second Round, earning the respect of WWE COO Triple H and exiting the tournament with fans begging to see more.

After having a taste of the big time, Cedric Alexander took his game to the next level in WWE's Cruiserweight division on Raw, as well as on the Cruiserweight-exclusive show WWE 205 Live, which previously aired exclusive Fridays, only on WWE Network.

Introducing: Cesaro

Image
If you hear sirens, seek shelter, because Cesaro’s on his way.

A onetime European rugby star who was banned from league play due to excessive aggression, Cesaro applied his mercilessness in the ring, honing his skills not just in Europe but around the entire world. Upon landing in the United States, he developed a cult following, exhibiting his vicious skills in tag team and singles competition alike.

This brutally innovative grappler is not all brawn, however. The cultured Cesaro speaks five languages, allowing him to adapt to his surroundings and speak as much smack talk as he desired while traveling the globe en route to WWE.

Introducing: Chad Gable

Image
Chad Gable exudes the competitiveness, intensity and confidence of an Olympic athlete for good reason: He was one.

Hailing from Minnesota, a state rich in wrestling history, Gable has been a master of the mat since his youth. A former state champion in high school, he reached the pinnacle of amateur grappling in 2012, claiming victory in the U.S. Olympic Trials and earning the right to compete at the London Olympics that summer. Once the Summer Games passed, Gable turned his focus to sports-entertainment, signing on to train at the WWE Performance Center.

It wasn’t long before Gable's prodigious skill inside the ring propelled him to Superstardom in NXT, where the savant of suplexes found his greatest success teaming with fellow amateur standout Jason Jordan. Known as American Alpha, the duo ignited NXT’s tandem division and won over the NXT Universe before being drafted to SmackDown LIVE in 2016 and eventually winning the SmackDown Tag Team Championship.

Introducing: Daniel Bryan

Image
They say that some men are destined for greatness, but there is an argument to be made that Daniel Bryan is one of the few who was literally chosen for it, both by the WWE Universe and by his own sheer will.

After years as a scrappy underdog so beloved by the fans that they launched a “Yes!” Movement (inspired by his signature chants) to catapult him to the main event of WrestleMania XXX -- where he defeated Randy Orton and Batista to capture the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in one of the most incredible conclusions to The Showcase of the Immortals in history -- Bryan has continued to always look for the next challenge.

In fact, it is that characteristic that has allowed him to transcend championships in a fight for his professional life, as Bryan also achieved a near-miraculous recovery from a three-year injury-induced retirement to return to the squared circle more dangerous than ever.

The Leader of the “Yes! Movement is a pure force to be reckoned with. He is a Grand Slam Champion in WWE and holds the longest single-recorded stint in a Royal Rumble Match. He’s also surgical on the mat, with a near-bottomless arsenal of intricate submissions, blistering strikes and basic-but-effective maneuvers that can put opponents away just as quickly.

Introducing: Dolph Ziggler

Image
Can it be? Can it be that Dolph Ziggler really is that damn good, the best in the business and the man who steals the show every single night — and your girlfriend too?

You better believe it, brother.

Dolph Ziggler is the kind of Superstar that makes women swoon and men wonder what they ever did to the universe that they didn’t get the gifts he has. An elite collegiate athlete who set his sights on WWE and didn’t stop until he got there, Ziggler took a journeyman path to the top that is completely at odds with the skill he used to navigate it. Initially cast in go-nowhere roles as a caddy and a cheerleader, Dolph finally found his calling as, quite simply, the guy who was the most talented Superstar on the card and didn’t mind crowing about it when the time was right.
