Introducing: Drew McIntyre

Image
While many fellow 15-year-olds were worried about sitting at the “popular table” at lunchtime, Drew McIntyre was already training to become a WWE Superstar. He didn’t have to wait terribly long to achieve his dream, either, as the endlessly athletic Scotsman skyrocketed from the U.K. independent scene to WWE before he was old enough to rent a car.

After an unexpected departure ended his first WWE run in 2014, McIntyre emerged back on the scene in 2017 and quickly rose to unprecedented heights. “The Scottish Warrior” came back bigger and badder than ever, riding a wave of momentum all the way to the main event of WrestleMania 36, where he defeated Brock Lesnar to capture his first WWE Championship. With an impressive list of title defenses already under his belt, McIntyre seems to be right at home embracing his Scottish heritage and warrior-like mentality.

McIntyre will not hesitate to drop any opponent with his patented Claymore, as the WWE Universe has seen him do already to the likes of Big Show, Randy Orton, Seth Rollins and many more. At the end of the day, the man just loves a good fight, and he is not the slightest bit shy about letting his counterparts know exactly that.

Introducing: Finn Balor

Image
Meet Finn Bálor: Athletic, charismatic, occasionally demonic, and a bona fide worldwide sensation.

The WWE Universe may know Bálor for being the first-ever Universal Champion, but the mysterious Irishman’s legend spanned across countries and continents long before he ever stepped onto the WWE stage. After competing in his first match at 18 and achieving success in his homeland, Bálor relocated to Japan to hone his skills in the notorious dojo system of the Far East. Unsurprisingly, he thrived, winning multiple championships and leading several foot soldiers to support him. He soon relocated to America to ply his trade in NXT, where he achieved a record-setting run with the NXT Championship, among other accolades.

The combination of his quiet, accurate precision and his periodic transformation into the terrifying "Demon" made Bálor one of the hottest WWE commodities in more than a decade, so it came as little surprise when he was the first NXT graduate to be taken in the 2016 WWE Brand Extension Draft, going fifth overall to Raw.

Soon after that, Bálor reached his greatest achievement to date when he pinned Seth Rollins at SummerSlam 2016 to become the first-ever Universal Champion. He even took Brock Lesnar to the limit in a thrilling Universal Title Match at Royal Rumble 2019.

In 2019, he returned to WWE NXT on the first-ever two-hour live episode on USA. Seemingly out of nowhere, Finn viciously attacked Johnny Gargano, dropping him head-first onto the steel ramp with a thunderous 1916 and continuing to target Johnny Wrestling in the weeks and months that followed.

Then, The Prince once again conquered the black-and-gold brand, edging Adam Cole in an epic bout for the vacant NXT Title.

Bálor is an extraordinary man who can do extraordinary things … and his track record proves that doubting him on accomplishing the extraordinary would just be foolish.

Introducing: Hanson

Image
The War Raiders, Hanson and Rowe have one objective in mind: World domination.

For years, The War Raiders used brute force to capture tag team titles wherever they went, from the U.K. to Japan. Looking to devour new competition, Hanson & Rowe turned their attention to the NXT Tag Team scene in early 2018. Their impact was felt immediately, as The Viking Raiders arrived by surprise to unleash a barrage on two of the black-and-yellow brand’s top tandems, Heavy Machinery and Riddick Moss & Tino Sabbatelli, less than one week after NXT TakeOver: New Orleans.

Hanson & Rowe, whose gruff exteriors would look right at home beyond the wall in “Game of Thrones,” have made smash-mouth collisions their stock in trade. Yet, Ivar, a protégé of WWE Hall of Famer Killer Kowalski, is also deceptively agile for a man of his size. Every bit as athletic as he is ferocious, the 300-pounder has been known to come crashing down on opponents from the top rope.

After going undefeated for several months on Raw, Hanson and Rowe captured the Raw Tag Team Titles in a thorough thrashing of Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode.

On their quest to prove they were the most dominant force on Raw, The War Raiders found themselves in an "anything you can do, I can do better" series of competitions against The Street Profits after WrestleMania 36, revealing a different side and set of skills for the "kinda cute" Ivar and his teammate Erik.

All other tag teams better beware.

Introducing: Jason Jordan

Image
Jason Jordan has proven time and time again to be a successful athlete and is now plying that competitive trait on Raw.

Whether it was in high school, where he was a three-sport super-jock playing football, wrestling and baseball, or at Indiana University, where he wrestled and became a three-time NCAA national qualifier at the Division I level, Jordan knows how to excel.

That attitude carried him to the WWE Performance Center to pursue his dream of becoming a Superstar. After an uneven start as a singles competitor in NXT, Jordan aligned with former Olympic grappler Chad Gable to form American Alpha. The two impressed in their early outings as a unit, turning heads in the inaugural Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. With the support of the NXT Universe, they eventually clinched the NXT Tag Team Championship.

Although American Alpha was drafted to SmackDown LIVE in July 2016, destiny drew Jordan to the Red brand on the July 17, 2017, edition of Raw, when General Manager Kurt Angle revealed that Jordan was his long-lost son! Then, on a special Christmas edition of Monday Night Raw, Jordan teamed with Seth Rollins to capture the Raw Tag Team Championship and became the first-ever Superstar to hold the Raw, SmackDown and NXT Tag Team Titles.

Introducing: Jey Uso

Image
Twin sons of WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi, Jey Uso and his brother Jimmy bubbled under the radar for years as a workhorse tag team in WWE before finally hitting the big time while embracing their Samoan heritage. The brothers would repeatedly take to the skies in bright colors, flying tassels and dazzling war paint, winning the WWE Tag Team Championship and Slammy for Tag Team of the Year on more than one occasion. But eventually faced with a crop of new tag teams to overcome, The Usos soon decided they were “done with all that” and went back to basics. No more paint, no more screaming. Black T-shirt, black hoodies and a mean streak that needs to be seen to be believed.

Over time, The Usos became one of the most dynamic and ruthless tag team show ever stepped in WWE, a tandem that would bring the crowd to its feet with their skills virtually every time they entered the ring, including throughout an epic rivaly with The New Day. Together, there is little The Usos couldn't do, being together since Day One!

Nevertheless, in spite his tag team greatness, Jey Uso has reached his greatest notoriety in his association with his cousin Roman Reigns. Following a highly personal feud with The Big Dog, Jey was eventually subjected by the "Head of the Table." Since then, Jey has become completely unhinged, delivering numerous attacks of Superstars at the behest of Reigns and becoming "main event" Jey Uso thanks to numerous main event showdowns on SmackDown.

Introducing: Jimmy Uso

Image
If all you know of WWE is what you see on Total Divas, Jimmy Uso is a loving, kind-hearted husband with a heart of gold. The ring, however, paints a very different picture.

Along with his twin brother Jey, Jimmy has caused nightmares for the WWE Tag Team division for years. Initially a hard-working team with under-the-radar buzz, The Usos eventually fulfilled their WWE Hall of Fame lineage by winning the WWE Tag Team Titles — and twice winning the Tag Team of the Year Slammy — soaring across the ring in tassels and war paint.

But once the New Era rolled around, they went back to basics, ditching the crowd-pleasing attitude that put them on the map for a sparse, brutal move set and dark black hoodies that signaled a new look and a new attitude for The Usos. It immediately paid dividends, as the brothers became three-time SmackDown Tag Team Champions in 2017 alone (their battles with The New Day in 2017 were all instant classics) and have racked up six tenures as tandem champions.

After moving to Raw in the 2019 Superstar Shake-up, they’re now back on SmackDown, but as long as they have each other — the only two who have been down since Day One — Jimmy and Jey will continue to soar.

Introducing: Johnny Gargano

Image
Anything can happen in WWE — except Johnny Gargano giving up on his dreams.

Since starting his path to Superstardom, the man known as Johnny Wrestling has heard “no” more times than he can count. When he first broke in, he was told he was too small to be a serious contender, and he still has the rejection email he received after attending a WWE tryout in 2015, keeping it as a reminder of how far he’s come. Because make no mistake, the self-described “chubby kid from Cleveland” — who used to play-wrestle on mattresses and aspire to become the next Shawn Michaels — has come a long, long way.

Starting out as an unsigned free agent, Gargano first made his mark in NXT in a tag team with Tommaso Ciampa. The duo known as #DIY lifted NXT’s tandem division to new heights, producing classic rivalries against the likes of The Revival and AOP, as well as an impressive NXT Tag Team Title reign. After the team’s implosion in 2017, a fate brought on by Ciampa’s ruthless betrayal of Gargano, the two Superstars experienced more ups and downs than a rollercoaster ride. Yet, whether they call each other friend or foe, it’s clear Gargano and Ciampa’s journeys in WWE will be forever intertwined.

Gargano has endured crushing losses on the biggest stages, undergone crises of conscience and weathered personal hardships, only to bounce back stronger every time, even becoming the first Triple Crown Champion in NXT history. He’s also competed at more TakeOvers than any other Superstar, etched many of NXT’s all-time great matches and, above all else, remained unwaveringly loyal to those who support him. Rest assured that if you don’t quit on Johnny Gargano, he won’t quit on you.

Introducing: Karl Anderson

Image
Karl Anderson is tough. All you have to do is follow the word of Anderson’s accomplishments in Japan to understand the type of competitor that the WWE Tag Team division inherited.

Along with his partner, Luke Gallows, Anderson left a trail of destruction throughout the Land of the Rising Sun, picking up exactly where they left off after their arrival in WWE, where they confirmed their rumored arrival by ambushing The Usos on Raw.

The duo’s destructive tendencies made them number one with a bullet at Royal Rumble 2017, when they captured the Raw Tag Team Titles from Sheamus & Cesaro.

In summer 2019, Gallows & Anderson reunited with longtime running buddy AJ Styles to form The O.C., refocusing on what originally made them one of the most feared pairings in all of sports-entertainment. The renewed partnership quickly paid dividends as Gallows & Anderson captured the Raw Tag Titles before SummerSlam 2019 and captured the WWE Tag Team World Cup to become the best tag team in the world by winning a Tag Team Turmoil Match against eight other tandems.

Gallows & Anderson are a force to be reckoned with, and their focus never waivers from being mean and making green. Now isn't that just too sweet?

Introducing: Kevin Owens

Image
Kevin Owens is an outspoken, Quebec-born brawler who bolts around the ring with equal parts grace and bad intentions.

Lauded by The Rock and possessing what WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin described as a “hell of an arsenal,” Owens earned many accolades in North America and abroad.

During his 14 years as a globetrotting independent grappler, Owens crossed paths and locked horns with men who went on to become WWE Superstars, including Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins and, perhaps most famously, Sami Zayn. After achieving success as one of the world’s top in-ring competitors, Owens made his debut at NXT TakeOver: R Evolution, and captured the NXT Championship only a few months later by annihilating Zayn, his oldest friend.

Owens’ mix of ruthlessness, determination and guts followed him to the main roster, where he defeated John Cena in his first match and made it a point to target the biggest, baddest boys in the yard. Since then, he’s taken on everyone from Daniel Bryan to Roman Reigns to Shane McMahon to Seth Rollins to AJ Styles, amassing the Universal, United States Championship and Intercontinental Championship along the way.

In addition to his in-ring prowess, KO has porven himself a master of the mic, whether he’s calling out a Superstar to settle a dispute or regularly hosting his own unpredictable talk show, "The Kevin Owens Show."

Above all, Kevin Owens is a fearless competitor with an extraordinary singular belief in himself and his ability. He stands time and time again as a Superstar who will stop at nothing to compete in the best match of the night, whether that mean engaging in Tables, Ladders and Chairs slugfests, awe-inspiring leaps from the top of the WrestleMania sign or taking on multiple Superstars against the odds.

Now that he's back on SmackDown as a result of the 2020 WWE Draft, KO will be looking to dole out Stunners and fight his way to the top of the blue brand, whatever the cost.

Introducing: Kofi Kingston

Image
The New Day’s Kofi Kingston is powered by positivity, and he’s used it to catapult himself to new heights, including the WWE Championship.

Since bursting on the WWE scene in 2007, Kingston has established himself as one of WWE’s premier high-flyers. That, paired with his upbeat attitude, made him a perennial favorite of the WWE Universe as he racked up Intercontinental, United States and Tag Team Championships. Kingston also cemented his place in WWE history with a series of daredevil moments where he saved himself from elimination in several Royal Rumble Matches.

When he joined forces with Big E and Xavier Woods to form The New Day, though, no one could have guessed that the trio of unicorn horn-wearing, Booty-O-chomping Superstars would achieve the feats that they have in WWE. In fact, the WWE Universe despised them at first, but soon grew to love them.

As the veteran member of the team, Kingston provides his wealth of knowledge to his younger compadres, and it has paid off. Not only has The New Day become one of the most popular factions in WWE history, but ya boys have held multiple Tag Team Championships between their stints on Raw and SmackDown, including the longest reign in WWE history at an astonishing 483 days.

Kingston's 11 years of hard work and dedication finally brought him to the dance at WrestleMania 35 where he challenged Daniel Bryan for the WWE Title. With the entire WWE Universe behind him, as well as his New Day brothers and the SmackDown locker room, Kofi beat Bryan to claim WWE's ultimate prize. It just goes to show what The Power of Positivity can accomplish.

The 2020 WWE Draft was a mixed bag for The New Day, however, as Kingston and Woods were drafted to Raw after winning the SmackDown Tag Team Titles, though Big E was selected by the blue brand immediately after.
