Back and healthy, Cerrone and DuBois to run it back at UFC 260
Bobby Symes -- Bleacher Report MMA Writer

Fresh off becoming the first fighter to ever submit Nick Diaz, UFC welterweight J.J. DuBois is looking to slay another veteran in Donald Cerrone with DuBois agreeing to a bout agreement to fight Cerrone in April on the UFC 260 undercard.

The two were scheduled to fight last year before Cerrone had to pull out due to injury which led to the DuBois - Diaz fight. DuBois promises to make Cerrone tap, a feat that hasn't been accomplished since 2010.

Cho Kim, J.J. DuBois scheduled to fight at UFC 263
Mike Billingsley -- ESPN.com MMA Reporter

Top fifteen ranked welterweight Cho Kim and undefeated prospect J.J. DuBois have both signed a bout agreement to fight on UFC 263 in July later this week.

Kim is ranked 15th in the UFC's latest welterweight rankings and is undefeated with recent wins over Alan Jouban and Alex Oliveira that propelled him into the top fifteen. The grappling heavy South Korean might be a dip in terms of name recognition as an opponent for DuBois whose last two fights have been against UFC veterans Nick Diaz and Donald Cerrone but it's the kind of fight that might put a number next to his name.

After securing an early submission in his first win and being the first UFC fighter to submit Diaz, DuBois looked less than impressive in his win over Donald Cerrone and was down on one of the judge's score card entering the third round. It stands to reason that even without the knockout, DuBois likely would have won the third round and the fight itself. Nevertheless, Cerrone was able to compete on the ground with DuBois, a reputed elite wrestler with two Olympic gold medals

Gunnar Nelson, J.J. DuBois to square off in top 15 UFC WW clash
Mike Billingsley -- ESPN.com MMA Reporter

With a newly minted No. 15 next to his name, rising UFC prospect J.J. DuBois is now scheduled to face off against No. 11 ranked UFC welterweight Gunnar Nelson.

Nelson, 33, is a ten-year UFC veteran that's fought just once since 2019. In the same time span, DuBois began training for MMA after an accomplished career as a wrestler and is now 4-0 with stoppages in all four wins.

After making it to the third round with Donald Cerrone back in April, DuBois made easy work of Choi Kim in July to earn him a spot in the top fifteen. DuBois was reportedly offered a fight against Blake Robinson which he made public, turning it down and asking for a ranked fighter.

"I'm eyeing the top five within the next calendar year," DuBois told ESPN, "I'm only fighting guys ranked ahead of me."

Nelson is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, which was awarded by Renzo Gracie after impressive results at the 2009 IBJJF Pan-Ams and the 2009 ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championship. Nelson promises to be DuBois' toughest challenge.

UFC Fight Night 213 adds DuBois, Lawler fight
Mike Billingsley -- ESPN.com MMA Reporter

In what could potentially be the final fight of a legendary UFC career, former champion Robbie Lawler has agreed to taken on 12th ranked 170-pounder J.J. DuBois at UFC Fight Night 213 in December.

The final card of the year got a lot more star power added with DuBois, in just his fifth UFC fight, taking on a third UFC veteran after beating Nate Diaz last year and Donald Cerrone earlier this year back in April.

DuBois most recently beat BJJ black belt Gunnar Nelson in dominating fashion, utilizing his Olympic gold medal level wrestling prior to the second round knockout. DuBois moved up three spots up in the ranking and could potentially crack the top ten with a win over No. 10 Lawler.
