Porter announces retirement


TE Dave Porter scores a touchdown in the Bucs' Superbowl XXXVII Win

Tampa ‐ "It's something I started thinking about during the preseason. Doing all the work. You're pretty tied to it." Dave Porter said earlier today when he announced his retirement from the NFL, just two weeks removed from scoring a touchdown in the Buccaneers Superbowl win over the Raiders.

"For the season to end with us on top of the world just made the decision that much easier."

Porter, who also won a National Championship at Florida State, says he is keeping his options open moving forward and has a few things in motion.

Porter finished his career with 2,652 yards and 36 touchdowns in four seasons with Tampa Bay.
