Austin, Hart, Lesnar and Rock are my predictions. Lots of upsets in round 1 but i think the cream rises to the top going forward

June Week 3 | Newark, NJ

Match #1: One on One Normal: D-Von Dudley w/ Bubba Ray Dudley vs. Matt Hardy w/ Jeff Hardy
After facing off last week with their partners barred from ringside. This week, Matt and D-Von were set to go at it again with their partners in their corners as managers. This didn't really change the outcome. D-Von beat Matt Hardy even more easily this time, making an absolute statement that the Dudleyz have every bit the claim to the title that the sitting champions do. There will be a title match in two weeks at King of the Ring and that should hopefully bring about an end to this long running feud. The Hardyz appear to be on the backfoot as things currently stand.
Winner: D-Von Dudley by Pinfall.

Match #2: One on One Normal: Triple H w/ Evolution vs. The Undertaker
Before the match started, HHH pretended to offer a handshake to Taker, and as soon as he went for it, he socked him in the face. A brawl ensued, and with the help of some distractions from Evolution, HHH was able to come out on top from that. He hit a powerful spinebuster on Taker and then a pedigree, but Taker kicked out at two. Triple H was extremely frustrated by this and despite the protests of the ref, grabbed a sledgehammer and smashed Taker in the head with it. The referee called for the bell and the disqualification, but the rest of Evolution came into the ring after to beat down the WWE champion.
Winner: Undertaker by DQ.

Mid-Card Promo: Lita
Lita called out Trish Stratus. At Backlash a few weeks ago, Trish successfully defended her title against Lita, and she demanded a rematch. Trish came out to tell Lita that she already proved she's better than her at the last pay-per-view, it's over and she needs to keep her name out of her mouth. Lita told Trish she was just scared of losing her title but that wasn't enough to goad Trish into giving her a title shot. We'll see if anything changes on that front next week.

Match #3: One on One Normal: Kurt Angle vs. The Rock
In the last two weeks, Angle and the Rock have both picked up massive wins over the WWE Champion Undertaker and the #1 Contender, Triple H, respectively. This contest between them was to determine who would become the next #1 contender after the two current top guys face off at the pay-per-view. it was an excellent match. Angle showcased his technical abilities early on, trapping The Rock in a number of holds and wearing him down with his traditional mat-wrestling moves, but then the Great One caught fire. After rolling out of an Ankle Lock, he hit Angle with a pair of clotheslines and a People's Elbow for a two count. The pair continued to fight each other, exchanging blows and Angle gained the upper hand with a series of German Suplexes. He then went for the Angle Slam, but The Rock countered that as well to Angle's surprise and hit him with the Rock Bottom to put him down for a three count. The Rock will be the #1 contender for the WWE Title after King of the Ring, despite being in the tournament himself, giving him two incredible potential opportunities to win the title.
Winner: The Rock by Pinfall.

Match #4: KOTR Quarter-Final: Steve Austin (#1) vs. Eddie Guerrero (#8)
Austin came into this after picking up a really easy win in his Round of 16 matchup against Rikishi, while Eddie was coming off a very hard fought victory against the Big Show. The wear and tear on Eddie showed after being in a series of difficult matches the last 6 weeks, while Austin looked fresher. Austin was in control from the outset, and landed a Lou Thesz press before looking all set for a stunner to end it. But Austin got arrogant and wanted to inflict more pain on Guerrero to show his dominance. More blows to the head busted Eddie open, but that seemed to actually light a fire inside the latino superstar. He fought back and hit the Three Amigos suplexes on Austin and went for the pin but Stone Cold kicked out. A tired Guerrero tried to haul Austin to his feet for another move, but ended up getting stunnered in the center of the ring. One, two... kick out! Eddie kicked out to the shock of Stone Cold, who in a mystified fury picked up Guerrero in preparation to deliver a second stunner, Eddie dodged this one, hit the Three Amigos again and then climbed the rope for a Frog Splash, which proved to be enough to put Stone Cold Steve Austin down for good. The #1 seed is out of the tournament in another major upset!
Winner: Eddie Guerrero by Pinfall:

Main Event: KOTR Quarter-Final: Booker T (#12) w/ nWo vs. Bret Hart w/ Jim Neidhart (#4)
The nWo being at ringside always spells trouble for any opponent of Booker's, but this time he didn't need them. He went toe to toe with Hart, and while he did use a few underhanded tactics, Nash and Hall never had to get involved in the match. Booker was quick to evade any submission attempts from the submission specialist, and despite Hart kicking out of the first Book-End he went for, he wouldn't kick out of a second one that came later as Booker pulled of his second consecutive upset in the tournament. He advances to face Eddie Guerrero in the first confirmed King of the Ring semi-final.
Winner: Booker T by Pinfall.

Great past couple of shows. Very surprised by the Texas Rattlesnake losing against Eddie. I think Lesnar takes the tournament.

Yeah there have been a lot of upsets in this. Brock and The Rock are probably the two favourites now. They'll have to beat each other to get through to the final though (assuming they win their quarter-final matchups).

Excited to see the culmination of this Hardyz vs Dudleyz feud, hoping for a gimmick match that lives up to the hype.

HHH selling that heel role. Hoping Taker holds him off for the belt.

Would like to see Lita take the women's belt from Trish, hopefully she'll get a shot at it.

Rock vs Angle sounded like a great match. Probably two of the best.

Shocked to see Austin lost. Never bought into Guerrero as one of the top guys. That's a bummer.

Booker winning is a welcome surprise.

Great show!

Mysterio vs Lesnar is an interesting matchup. Orton vs Rock is a good one. Orton always struck me as like the Rock lite?

Hardyz/Dudleyz conclusion should be good! I think Trish will likely have to give Lita a shot but we'll see what happens. Rock vs. Angle was very good, I just watched it but I was kind of hoping Angle would win to see what he can do in the main event, but that's fine. Rock vs. the winner of Taker/HHH should be an interesting feud after this.

I was surprised Austin lost also, Eddie reversing the stunner cost him bigtime. I always liked Eddie Guerrero but I agree he's more of an upper mid carder than a top tier guy. But maybe he can win this tournament, who knows.

Booker is fucking hard to beat because he's with the nWo. Like I'm not kidding Nash and Hall do so many antics during the match in terms of distracting the ref or throwing weapons into the ring. I think that Brock matchup is gonna be close to impossible for Rey, Brock is an absolute beast in this game. Orton isn't really a Rock-lite. He has a similar look/gear but The Rock is one of the best mic workers ever if not the best and Orton is just ok there.

Yeah I meant more of a similar wrestling style for Orton I guess. Not anywhere near the charisma. There were a few generic guys about Ortons size I remember.

Ah I see what you mean. Yeah Orton is also a legacy guy, he's a 3rd generation superstar, his dad and grandfather both were professional wrestlers also.
