Main Event: Royal Rumble :fivestar:

The newly crowned WWE Undisputed Champion, Batista, entered the Royal Rumble first in a shocking development. Were he to win he would forego having to defend his belt at Wrestlemania (should he still be champion by then). Entrant #2 was Booker T. Rick Steiner came out next at #3, Hogan 4th. British Bulldog 5th. Next was Randy Orton at #6 and The Hurricane at #7. The Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels, came in at #8. Rick Steiner got the first elimination, sending British Bulldog out over the top rope. Then not long after a shock elimination came with The Hurricane taking out Batista. Hogan eliminated Booker T shortly later, before Kurt Angle entered at #9 and cleaned house with a series of suplexes. Hurricane grabbed a second elimination of the match when he caught Rick Steiner by surprise. John Cena came out at #10 and double teamed HBK with Angle to toss him out after a short-lived stint in the match.

Triple H came out at #11 and was IMMEDIATELY eliminated by The Hurricane with a Superkick to send him over the top rope. The Rock came out next at #12. Hogan picked up Cena and just threw him out over the top rope with a big power move before Rey Mysterio ran out to the ring at #13. Hogan ended Hurricane's storybook run not after and went on a big streak of eliminations, sending out The Rock, Hurricane and Kurt Angle in quick succession. Vader and Stone Cold were the next two to enter but Hogan took care of the former very quickly as he started to dominate the match. #16 was X-Pac. 17th was Bret Hart. 18th was Eddie Guerrero and 19th was Faarooq. The 20th entrant in the Rumble was Jim Neidhart. Hogan got his 6th elimination with a Big Boot to send former nWo member, X-Pac, out over the top rope. He made it a 7th not long later when he eliminated Randy Orton. Cactus Jack came out at 21 but was very quickly removed by a double team from Bret Hart and Jim Neidhart. JBL followed at #22. His presence gave Faarooq the boost he needed to send Bret Hart flying over the top rope, but he quickly betrayed and eliminated his partner Faaroq right after. Next out were Nash at 23 and former Undisputed Champion, Rob Van Dam at 24.

At 25 an ominous sound echoed throughout the Arena as The Undertaker came out to the ring. RVD tried to do a running elimination on Austin but The Rattlesnake countered it and sent RVD flying out instead. Not long later Scott Hall came out at 26, and now all three members of nWo were still in the matchup. The numbers game started to work in their favor as Nash eliminated Jim Neidhart. At 27 the IC champ, Umaga, came out to the ring and quickly eliminated JBL. 28th was Kane who quickly eliminated his brother and tag partner, The Undertaker as the two had a staredown. Big Poppa Pump, Scott Steiner came out at 29 just before Kevin Nash and Scott Hall worked togeher to send out Steve Austin. The final entrant was Ultimate Warriors at #30. Umaga went into beast mode and thinned out the nWo numbers massively by eliminating both Hall and Nash, but Hogan continued to represent them well by sending out Scott Steiner. We were down to 4 men now with Ultimate Warriors, Umaga, Kane and Hollywood Hogan. Umaga went after Hogan and eliminated him while Warrior took care of Kane. Umaga then ran at Warrior from behind and eliminated him to win the Royal Rumble and become #1 contender for the WWE Undisputed Championship while still holding the IC title.

Match #2: Eddie Guerrero (c) vs. Rey Mysterio | One on One | Intercontinental Championship :threestar:
Two former friends turned bitter rivals faced off for the prestigious Intercontinental title at mania. Rey was performing well early on in the match but momentum shifted when things spilled outside the ring. Eddie looked to take advantage and end things early with a Frog Splash but Rey rolled out of the way. When Rey tried to go for a Eddie on the ground though, Guerrero rolled him up and grabbed the tights to get the surprise pin and retain his belt leaving the defeated Mysterio extremely frustrated in the middle of the ring as he celebrated.

Main Event: Umaga vs. Batista (c) | One on One | Undisputed Championship :fourstar:
After an impressive win at the Royal Rumble, Umaga had earned a shot at Batista's Undisputed WWE Championship. Umaga physically dominated The Animal from the start of the opening bell, in a way we had never seen Batista be manhandled before. He nearly put the match away early with a Samoan Drop and then vicious Samoan Spike but Batista somehow kicked out at 2.5. Umaga's onslaught continued but this time when he went for a second Samoan Spike, Batista countered it then they both ran the ropes and Batista caught him with a Spear out of nowhere. That was only good for a two count though, and a visibly pissed off Batista started lining up Umaga for the Batista Bomb to end it. He gave Umaga too much time to recover though as he countered the Batista Bomb and then Samoan Spiked Batista to knock him out cold and get the 1, 2, 3 to win his first ever WWE Championship.

Ken Shamrock mounted the Intercontinental Champion as soon as he got in the ring, going for some vicious strikes to the head to start the match. He maintained control from there, even locking Guerrero in the Ankle Lock, but Eddie used one of his old tricks, removing his boot to get out of the lock. Syxx and Hurricane started out things with Syxx eliminating Hurricane by submission with the Buzzkiller not long after Mysterio joined the match. From there, the match continued for a while as Syxx faced off with Mysterio while AJ Styles took on RVD. Styles was able to catch RVD in a Calf Crusher and force him to tap out as well. Not long after Syxx got the upper hand on Mysterio, but Styles caught him with a cheap shot when he wasn't paying attention to take him out and pin him with a Styles Clash. Then Mysterio and Styles faced off. It was evenly contested between the two until Styles introduced a chair to the match. He beat Rey with it then hit a devastating Phenomenal Forearm to put him out for good and win his first Light Heavyweight Championship.

But before he could get all the way up the ramp, The Rock of all people came down and grabbed him and threw him back into the ring. Umaga screamed at The Rock in anger but lost sight of Bulldog, who then hoisted him up for a Running Powerslam to win the match in an upset. The Rock stood on the stage laughing after costing his cousin the match. Does The Great One have his eyes set on the WWE Championship?
