Match #1: Randy Orton vs. Gunther | One on One :fourstar:
After both men failed in the Intercontinental Championship match last week, they were pitted against each other in a rubber match. Randy seemed to want to show good sportsmanship to Gunther, offering him a handshake before the match, but he pulled it away. Gunther was not amused and slapped the shit out of Orton as the bell rung to gain an early advantage. These two put on a great match, with Gunther powerbombing Orton twice but not being able to get the pin off either attempt. Orton gained some momentum in the matchup but went for a high risky diving move from the top turnbuckle to the outside of the ring. Gunther rolled out of the way at the last moment, sending Orton crashing into the floor. He then picked him up, powerbombed him on the outside and rolled him back into the ring for the win.

Match #2: John Cena & Batista vs. Ludwig Kaiser & Scott Hall | Two on Two :threestar:
After their show of respect last week, Cena and Batista were paired in a tag team match against half of Imperium and half of nWo in Ludwig Kaiser and Scott Hall. While they bickered a bit before the match started over who should start the contest, they eventually got on the same page and made short work of their opposition with Cena getting the pinfall after an F-U to Kaiser.

Match #3: Seth "Freakin" Rollins vs. Hollywood Hogan | One on One :twostar:
Seth Rollins was on his way out to the ring for his match with Hogan, when he got jumped from behind by The Rock. Rock was looking to finish the job he started last week after Rollins' attempted cheap shot, and finish it he did. He Rock Bottomed Rollins on the outside, leaving him badly hurt before his match with Hogan. Hogan was able to easily dispatch Seth as a result and get the victory. The Rock came out to taunt Rollins after his loss, and Seth lost it. He rushed Rock and the two brawled on the stage before they were separated by security.

Match #4: Nikki Bella (#4) vs. Bianca Belair (#5) | One on One | WWE Women's Championship - Round 1 :fourstar:
Nikki Bella was getting absolutely taken to task by Bianca Belair in this match, and it looked like it was going to be over for her quickly. Bianca went for a German Suplex, but Nikki used her legs to kick her in the crotch outside of the referee's view. The low blow had Bianca disoriented and Nikki capitalized by hitting her with the Rack Attack. She was only able to score a two count to her shock, so she hit Bianca with another one, but still Belair kicked out at two. A frustrated Nikki Bella screamed in rage and hit Belair with a third Rack Attack to finally put her down for the count. But that wasn't enough for her. After the match she stood on Bianca's hair and yanked it before hitting her with a fourth Rack Attack to leave her broken in the ring. Bella joins Trish Stratus as 2 of the 4 women in the final.

Main Event: Undertaker vs. Xavier Woods | One on One :fourhalfstar:
Undertaker wanted a rematch after his shocking loss to Xavier Woods last week and being attacked by the rest of the New Day. Woods' strategy early on was to try to get the count out victory. He managed to use Taker's momentum against him to throw him headfirst into the ringpost, busting Taker's forehead wide open early in the contest. Woods slipped back into the ring but Taker was able to recover and get back in at 9 before he was counted out. Woods stayed on the offensive though, hitting his patented Diving Elbow on Taker, but only getting a two count. Woods went up the turnbuckle for a second one but this time Taker caught him and hit him with a furious Tombstone Piledriver. Taker was too tired to go for the pin though so both men lay there for a while before making it back to their feet. Taker immediately hit Woods with a Chokeslam and another Tombstone, but Woods somehow kicked out at two to Taker's bewilderment. A frustrated Taker lost focus which allowed Woods to trip him up with a baseball slide and hit his Elbow Drop with his elbow connecting directly with the gash on Taker's forehead. Taker was knocked unconscious and Woods was able to pin him again for a second straight victory against the Deadman. After winning, Woods tried to turn Taker into a LITERAL Deadman, grabbing a chair and getting ready to wail on him with it but Kane rushed into the ring saving his brother and fellow World Tag Team Champion before anymore serious damage could be done.

Match #1: Randy Orton vs. Gunther vs. Brock Lesnar | One on One | Intercontinental Championship #1 Contender's Match :fivestar:
Vince McMahon came out and announced that three superstars who have been impressing lately would be competing in a #1 contender's match for Shinsuke Nakamura's championship, with the winner facing the King of Strong Style at Backlash. Orton, Gunther and Lesnar were given the spots. Lesnar was brutalizing the two rivals, when Orton and Gunther realized they needed to work together to have any chance of taking out The Beast. They hit him with a double powerbomb over the ropes to take him out of commission and make it a one on one match for the time being. Then these two put on a classic very similar to what they had last week, and again it looked like Gunther was going to end up on top when he hit Orton with the Powerbomb. But as he went for the pin, who else but Lesnar got back into the ring and hit Gunther with an F-5, before stacking him on top of Orton and pinning both men to claim an IC title match against Nakamura.

Match #2: Batista w/ John Cena vs. Bret "The Hitman" Hart | One on One :threestar:
It seems Cena and Batista are now working together as Cena came out with Batista as his manager for this match against Bret Hart. Batista was running through Hart from the outset, but The Hitman started to regain some momentum and ended up taking things to the outside. Batista and Hart were brawling on the outside and The Animal kept motioning to Cena to help him but Cena didn't do anything. Eventually Hart was able to whip Batista into the steel steps and then hit him with a piledriver with the count at 6. Hart rolled back into the ring and Batista took too long to get up, eventually being counted out just before he could get back into the ring. After the match, Cena started chastising Batista for the way he lost, "On a count out bro? Really dude?" A furious Batista yelled, "Why didn't you help me? I thought we were working together." Then he shoved Cena out of the way and left on his own.

Match #3: Lita (#2) w/ Edge vs. Asuka (#7) | One on One | WWE Women's Championship - Round 1 :threestar:
This one was a shocker. The newcomer, Asuka, absolutely dominated Lita. Even with Edge at ringside, the Rated-R Diva never got anything going and it was all Asuka for the duration of the short contest. Asuke eventually caught Lita in the Asuka Lock and forced her to tap out humiliatingly to claim the third spot in the Women's Fatal 4-Way match at Backlash.
► Show Spoiler
Match #4: Xavier Woods vs. Damian Priest | One on One :twohalfstar:
Xavier Woods looked to continue his impressive winning streak in singles competition against Damien Priest. He looked just as good in the ring as he had against Taker despite once again being up against a larger opponent. Woods was able to hit Priest with the Wheelbarrow Facebuster and then take him out with his Small Package Driver finisher to make it three wins in three weeks. Xavier celebrated his win in the ring after but his festivities were cut short when Undertaker came into the ring from behind him with a kendo stick. Taker was clearly upset about his back to back losses and took out that frustration on the New Day member with blow after blow from the stick, before standing over him with the weapon raised high in the air.

Main Event: The Rock vs. Roman Reigns | One on One :threehalfstar:
In a mega main event, The Rock was set to take on Roman Reigns, a fellow member of the legendary Anoa'i wrestling family. But we didn't get the match we wanted. Seth Rollins, still brooding over The Rock's assault last week, attacked him before the match could get started, smashing him into the steel steps to give Roman a massive advantage in the matchup. And Roman capitalized. He beat up The Rock badly, hitting him with not one but two Spears before eventually getting the victory. After winning, Roman grabbed the mic and declared, "I ALONE am the Tribal Chief of this family. You're gonna learn some respect today." Then he tossed the mic and grabbed a chair and beat the hell out of The Rock with it.

Frustration consumed Batista as he demanded answers from Cena, who made his intentions clear, "See some people, think this means I want that Undisputed Championship. Nahhh, that ain't it. See what I want is to show that I am the A champion in WWE. You may have that Undisputed Belt, but as United States Champion I am the real #1 guy in this company, dog. I mean that's what, two back to back losses for you these last two weeks bro?" Batista responded, "So you think you're the guy huh? Well why don't you put your money where your mouth is. Since you think that US belt is the A title, why not put it on the line at Backlash?" Cena said, "You know what, that's a hell of an idea. You're on, champ."
