Match #1: Sun-Moon Chen vs. Rhyno (c) | TLC | Hardcore Championship
The BCW Championship tournament was scrapped because Barron Blade wasn't signed to a WWE contract, however his opponent in the semi-final, Sun-Moon Chen, was given an opportunity. A bout for the Hardcore Championship where the winner would not only get the title but a permanent deal with WWE while the other would be released. Rhyno attacked Chen from behind prior to the match, desperate to keep his title, but Chen quickly regained composure. Most of the TLC match was spent on the outside, but when Chen eventually hit a Neckbreaker on Rhyno and put him through a table, that gave him more than enough time to scale the ladder and claim the Hardcore Championship and a WWE contract. Not a bad debut in the big leagues for the Japanese superstar.

Match #2: Donny Zenk w/ Kurt Angle vs. John Cena (c) | One on One | United States Championship
Kurt Angle earned the right to face Cena for the United States Championship on the go-home episode of RAW, but he called out his protege, Donny Zenk, fellow member of American Alpha, to take his place instead. Zenk was ready for the opportunity and showed it, dazzling the WWE Universe with an array of high flying moves and causing Cena major problems. He almost had the champ beat with his Crossroads finisher, but Cena kicked out at two. When the match continued, Zenk made a mistake, though and got caught with the F-U, from which he would not kick out. Angle looked on in disappointment as Cena raised his hands triumphantly over his protege, then started beating him down. Kurt rushed the ring eventually to stop the assault. Despite the loss, an impressive performance from Zenk, and this surely won't be the last we see of the American Patriot in the US Title picture.

Match #3: Randy Orton (c) vs. Rey Mysterio | One on One | Intercontinental Championship
Rey Mysterio has had some really impressive performances in WWE over the past two years, but this simply was not one of them from an offensive standpoint. Orton dominated the matchup, ragdolling the former Cruiserweight Champion repeatedly with powerful moves. Orton hit the RKO after a while, but Mysterio to his shock, kicked out of that. Not long later, Mysterio outdid even that by kicking out of a Punt Kick, a move that typically hospitalizes opponents, and that made Orton furious. He took things outside the ring and just started beating Mysterio senseless, slamming him into the announce table and finally hitting him with a second RKO. Then Orton slithered back into the ring and waited for the referee to count to 10, defeating Rey by count out and retaining his belt.

Match #4: Trish Stratus vs. Mickie James | One on One | Divas Championship
Trish was set to face Mickie James for her Women's Championship after winning a shot at the belt in a victory over Beth Phoenix on RAW. However before the match got started, Stephanie McMahon came out to announce that the Women's Championship was being retired after this match and the winner would take home a brand new, WWE Divas Championship. This bout was excellent between the two women, with both hitting and kicking out of each other's finishers. After a big series of reversals near the end of the match, Mickie had Trish in position for the Spiking DDT, but Stratus countered it and caught her with a Chick Kick to knock her out cold and become the WWE Divas Champion.

Match #5: Goldberg vs. Chris Jericho | No Holds Barred
After teaming up with each other to take down the World Tag Team Champions on RAW, Goldberg and Chris Jericho were pitted as foes at Backlash. Vince McMahon announced that because of their recent success, the winner of a one on one, No Holds Barred match between these two would become the #1 contender for the new unified WWE World Heavyweight Championship, set to be awarded to the winner of the main event tonight. Jericho was simply no match for Goldberg and was getting killed by the much larger athlete. Goldberg headed to the corner to set up a Spear as Jericho rose slowly. He bulldozed his way over but Jericho ducked out of the way just in time then low-blowed Goldberg. Normally an illegal move, but perfectly legal in a No Holds Barred match, the shot to Goldberg's private area was enough to keep him down for three and allow Jericho to steal the victory. Y2J is the new #1 contender!

Match #6: Hardy Boyz vs. American Alpha | Tag Team | Unified WWE Tag Team Championships
When the Hardyz arrived in the ring, they found out who owned the voice that had challenged them on Monday, Shelton Benjamin, one half of the WWE Tag Team Champions. He came out and explained that his partner, Charlie Haas, had left the business for personal reasons, but he'd found a replacement. Out came the man formerly known as the American Dragon, Daniel Bryan. The new pair challenged The Hardyz to a title for title match in which the winners would claim both the WWE and World Tag Team Championships to become Unified Tag Team Champions. The Hardyz accepted and things got underway. The match was very evenly contested between these two with a contrast of styles between the Hardyz aerial assault and American Alpha's olympic wrestling style. Jeff Hardy was taking on Bryan one on one and looked to have the upper hand. He went for a Swanton Bomb to win it but Benjamin broke up the pin and then kicked Matt Hardy off the apron to take him out as well. In the confusion, Jeff lost sight of Bryan and paid dearly for it when he locked him in the Yes Lock and forced him to tap out to grab the win.

Match #1: Jacqueline vs. Mickie James | One on One
Jacqueline took on the former Women's Champion Mickie James in singles action. She was extremely impressive in this one and had Mickie on the ropes after hitting a Float Over DDT on her that James was only just able to kick out of. Jacqueline then climbed the ropes looking to end things with a diving move, but when she reached the top, Ivory's music started playing. Jacqueline and the referee both looked to the stage, but Ivory slipped in the ring behind her and hit Jacqueline with a Facebuster out of the referee's view, costing her the match when Mickie pinned her shortly after. What's the motive behind this attack?

Match #2: Mansa & Apollo vs. American Alpha | Tag Team
The newly crowned Unified WWE Tag Team Champions, American Alpha, were set for a match against two singles superstars who'd never worked together before, Apollo and Mansa. It should've been easy for the champs, but these two caused them major problems, isolating Benjamin and Bryan individually in the corners and working together effectively. Eventually, almost in an instant, Mansa hit Bryan with the Mansa Cutter and pinned him while Apollo rushed the ring and hit Benjamin with a stiff right to keep him from breaking up the pinfall. Mansa and Apollo picked up the win, and afterwards the two shared some knowing high fives and daps, realizing they may actually work very well together.

Mid Card Promo: Donny Zenk | Call Out
Zenk came out and grabbed the mic, stating that he was all about business tonight and wanted to call out the man who beat him, then beat him down at Backlash, John Cena. Zenk talked about how they'd had one hell of a match, but even Cena knew it could've gone either way and that's why he tried to take him out afterwards, to completely eliminate the threat. Well he was planning on going nowhere and wanted the US Champ to come out and face him like a man. Cena came out and mocked Zenk, saying he was just a rookie who'd been handed an opportunity by Kurt Angle and failed to seize it, and he wouldn't be getting another shot. Zenk lost it, he headbutted Cena, which ignited a brawl between the two that ended with a big clothesline from Zenk before the two were separated by WWE officials.

Mid Card Promo: The Rock | Self Promotion
The Rock came out with his new Unified WWE World Heavyweight Championship belt, looking to gloat and have a bit of fun with the WWE Universe. Things were going great until he was oh so rudely interrupted by Chris Jericho, the man who had become #1 contender by low-blowing Goldberg at Backlash. Rock spoke, "Yeah, yeah Jericho you earned the right to face The Rock, for The Rock's title. But know this. You will never, and The Rock means NEVER touch The Rock's jewels up here (pointing at his belt) or jewels down there (pointing to his crotch). Jericho smirked, and replied. Look Rock, I don't respect you or take instructions from you. We've locked horns before and I've beaten you, so in four weeks at Halloween Havoc, expect more of the same, I'll make you tap out to the Walls of Jericho by any means necessary. Jericho dropped his mic and left the ring, allowing himself to get the last word in their verbal exchange.

Main Event: AJ Styles vs. Randy Orton | One on One
AJ Styles and Randy Orton, two of the most entertaining wrestlers in the company, were having an excellent back and forth match. Styles actually looked like he was about to put away the IC Champion as he stood on the apron preparing for the Phenomenal Forearm, when Bulk Bronson came out to the stage. Styles looked at him in confusion, and then the monster of a man rushed the ring. Styles looked scared of him, but then in a turn, instead of going for AJ, Bulk went after Randy Orton instead hitting him with a devastating Muscle Buster as the referee called for the bell and a disqualification. AJ looked on in pretend shock, then smiled and gave Bronson a Too Sweet handshake before the two continued to assault Orton. Bulk then picked him up and held him in position while Styles hit the Phenomenal Forearm. Bronson and Styles Too Sweet'd again as they stood over a motionless Orton. Has Bulk aligned himself with the nWo?

Match #1: Chris Jericho vs. Kurt Angle | One on One
Kurt Angle dispatched of Y2J surprisingly quickly in this match, rolling him up after a series of German Suplexes for the 1, 2, 3. After the match, Jericho offered a handshake to Angle. Though skeptical, Angle approached Jericho to reciprocate when Y2J promptly kicked him in the gonads, targeting the same area he had against Goldberg at Backlash and had threatened The Rock with as well, before storming out of the ring in frustration at his loss.

Match #2: Mansa & Apollo vs. American Alpha | Tag Team
Fresh off a loss to Mansa and Apollo last week, the tag team champions demanded a rematch. They started off much better this time, really putting their wrestling skills to good use and controlling the ground game, but then Mansa and Apollo started to play dirty. Apollo "accidentally" ran into the referee, knocking him over and out of the ring, while Mansa tossed a chair in which Apollo promptly clobbered Shelton Benjamin on the apron with. As Daniel Bryan and the ref both got to their feet, Apollo tagged in Mansa who delivered a superkick right to the side of Bryan's head and the ref counted to three to give them a second straight non-title victory over the WWE Tag Team Champions. Fairly or not, these two are proving to be a force. Will they get a shot at the titles soon?

Match #3: John Cena vs. Donny Zenk | One on One
Zenk didn't want any of the other members of American Alpha out with him this time, he just wanted to take on Cena one on one to focus. This match wasn't for the title, but Zenk was treating it as such and Cena... well... wasn't. He was cocky, and while he was dominating Donny early on, the high-flyer started to take to the air to find his way back into the match. After hitting the All-American Twist of Fate on Cena he climbed the turnbuckle and unveiled a move we hadn't seen from him before. Flipping and twisting in the air, Zenk hit Cena with the Red Arrow to pierce his heart from the sky and grab a big win in this matchup. Post-match, Zenk demanded a microphone and said, "You taking me seriously NOW, John? If you're not careful, I'll have another one those ready for you at Halloween Havoc. If you're man enough to put that belt on the line."

Match #4: Jacqueline vs. Ivory | One on One
Jacqueline didn't waste any time and immediately rushed the ring, mounted Ivory and started battering her with punches. The referee separated them then called for the bell to ring, but that didn't help Ivory much as Jacqueline was all over her after the attack last week. Ivory briefly got some counter punches in, but it was all Jacqueline who eventually put away her nemesis with the Float Over DDT to pick over a much-deserved and statement victory.

Main Event: AJ Styles & Bulk Bronson vs. Randy Orton | Handicap One on Two
Orton called out AJ Styles and Bulk Bronson after their attack on him last week, saying he'd take on both if he had to. AJ came out and said, "Both? Sure, I'll hold you to that Randy." The handicap match was on and Orton was in big trouble. He was getting picked apart by the two on one assault from Bronson and Styles. But as Orton does, he always seizes that one moment of opportunity. Randy managed to dodge Bronson's attempt at a Muscle Buster, then hit a Hanging Ropes DDT on him. He then RKO'd Bulk when he scrambled to his feet, but AJ Styles was ready and went for the Phenomenal Forearm to take him out. Orton dodged that as well, then quickly rolled up Bulk for three and ran off with his belt looking smug as the frustrated nWo members sat defeated in the middle of the ring.
