GM Points / Team Banks

What are GM Points?
GM Points are bonus ways to help you improve your team. They act as another level of strategy for GMs to take advantage of.

How to use GM Points:
Each season, GMs will start with a predetermined set amount of GM Points in their team bank. This set amount is subject to change from year to year. GMs will be able to do one of three things with their points:

A.) Player Development
B.) Injury Rehabilitation
C.) Player Recruitment

GM Points will be reset after the Player Development phase, once the regular season begins.

Player Development
Players may be developed after the preseason and BEFORE the regular season. This is because the abilities of players will naturally progress and/or regress on their own throughout the year. This will be done in the ways of Training Camps. The following Training Camps for this season and their costs are as follows:

The Jordan CP3 Camp
Ratings increased: Off IQ (+2), Def IQ (+1), Passing (+2), Dribbling (+2), 2pt Scoring (+2), Free Throws (+1)
Cost: 5 Points

Nike Hoop Summit Camp
Ratings increased: Potential (+5), Speed (+2), Endurance (+2), Strength (+1)
*If a player is 21 or younger, you may opt for an increase in Height in place of any or all of the above listed categories.
Cost: 5 Points

Dream Shake Camp
Ratings increased: Dunks/Layups (+4), Inside Scoring (+2), Rebounding (+2), Strength (+2)
Cost: 5 Points

Three-and-D Camp
Ratings increased: 3pt Scoring (+4), Def IQ (+3), Endurance (+3), Off IQ (+1)
Cost: 5 Points

Mamba Academy
Ratings increased: Off IQ (+4), Def IQ (+2), Inside Scoring (+4), 2pt Scoring (+4), Free Throws (+2)
Cost: 8 Points

Create-a-Camp
Cost Per +1 Increase by Category:
Potential: N/A
Height: N/A
Strength: 2
Speed: 3
Jump: 2
Endurance: 1
Inside Scoring: 3
Dunks/Layups: 2
Free Throws: 3
2pt Scoring: 3
3pt Scoring: 4
Off IQ: 4
Def IQ: 4
Dribbling: 2
Passing: 2
Rebounding: 3

...As you can see, it is much more beneficial to use a pre-made specialty camp than to create your own, but it is up to you.

You may send ANY player to ANY camp you want. Each player has a maximum of 2 camps he may attend in each developmental phase (once per calendar year). Create-a-Camp counts as one camp and has no limit for how many points are used in it.

Injury Rehabilitation
During sim stoppages, a GM may use GM Points towards rehabilitating an injury in order to help an injured player return to the court faster. The injury and cost scale is as follows:

Season Injury (lasting 180+ days)
Reduce the injury duration by half, Cost: 15 Points

Major Injury (lasting between 60-179 days)
Reduce the injury duration in full, Cost: 12 Points
Reduce the injury duration by half, Cost: 8 Points

Minor Injury (lasting between 14-59 days)
Reduce the injury duration in full, Cost: 8 Points
Reduce the injury duration by half, Cost: 5 Points

Day-to-Day Injury (lasting between Questionable-13 days)
Reduce the injury duration in full, Cost: 3 Points

Player Recruitment
In this game, acquiring players through Free Agency or re-signing existing players are important ways to build your team, however, some players will prefer to play for other teams or refuse to sign with you completely. Not only that, but you will be competing with other GMs to sign players. Here is how Player Recruitment will work:

Free Agent Bidding
You may assign GM Points within your bid to sign a player to increase the chances that a player signs with you. For example, if Michael Jordan is a free agent and is asking for the max... a GM may include GM Points as another way to "outbid" other GMs.

An offer would look like this: "Michael Jordan, MAX contract, 20 GM Points".

This is NOT guaranteed to land you that player, but it obviously increases your chances by a lot. Be careful though because other GMs may be planning to offer GM Points as well. Once included in the bid, your GM Points are non-refundable whether you sign that player or not.

Refusal Reversal
If a player is refusing to sign, or re-sign with your team, you may use GM Points to reverse the refusal.
Cost: 10 Points (if OVR is 54 or lower at time of negotiation)
Cost: 16 Points (if OVR is 54 or higher, but lower than 62)
Cost: 20 Points (if OVR is 63 or higher)

How to LOSE GM Points:
If you are penalized for any reason within the league whether it is from misconduct or any other violation of the rules, you can lose GM Points as a consequence. The current violations of salary cap are penalized as follows:

Over the CAP ceiling by $1.00 - $5M
Cost: 2 Points

Over the CAP ceiling by $5.01M - $15M
Cost: 6 Points

Over the CAP ceiling by $15.01 - $24.99M
Cost: 12 Points

Over the CAP ceiling by $25M+
Cost: 18 Points

Under the CAP floor by $1.00 - $10M
Cost: 2 Points

Under the CAP floor by $10.01 - $15M
Cost: 8 Points

Under the CAP floor by $15.01M+
Cost: 16 Points

Two questions:

1.) How does the refusal work? Do they just automatically accept the offer?

2.) In the penalties section for the under part. You mean under the FLOOR right not the under the cap? Also when do these penalties happen and how frequently?

Interesting idea, but what happens if you trade someone 18 GM points and then proceed to commit penalties? Who loses the points?

This is really a way to penalize teams more than anything.

1. No. Some players will refuse to negotiate. This "Refusal Reversal" will only allow a team to remove that "refuse to negotiate" tag.

2. Correct. Updated for clarity. Penalties will be based on actions. For Luxury Tax/CAP purposes it will be at the end of the season (a team will have the opportunity to fluctuate throughout the season like irl). This will happen before the Player Development phase.

Refusal Reversal
If a player is refusing to sign, or re-sign with your team, you may use GM Points to reverse the refusal.
Cost: 10 Points (if OVR is 54 or lower at time of negotiation)
Cost: 16 Points (if OVR is 54 or higher, but lower than 62)
Cost: 20 Points (if OVR is 63 or higher)
mvp does this guarantee that the player re-signs?

Nothing is guaranteed. It reverses the fact that he wasn't willing to negotiate, but now he is willing to negotiate.

So if you make an offer for the amount they want they'll accept at that point?
