USF Bulls Win 45-9 Against LSU Tigers
USF put up historic numbers last season on their way to a national championship. If their defense is also at that elite level now, a season might not need to be played.
The LSU Tigers were kept out of the endzone as the Bulls cruised to a 45-9 victory in Tampa on Saturday.
Aaron Rogers, one of the top quarterbacks in the SEC, completed 78 percent of his passes but averaged just 8.2 yards per completion and was intercepted on one of his few deep passes.
The Bulls had more rushing yards (298) than LSU had total yards of offense (263) with the Tigers converted just three third downs in the entire game and reaching the redzone just once.

Run of the Bulls ‣ USF Football News
Andrew Lake -- 247 Sports Staff Writer
‣ USF LB Love to miss several games with rib injury
USF will be without starting Mike linebacker Danny Love for the next few weeks after the senior suffered a rib injury in the team's win against LSU.
Love, who finished last season with 33 tackles and four tackles for loss, impressed many in the season opener with ten tackles. He already added two more against LSU in the first quarter before leaving with an injury.
With Love out, the Bulls kicked senior linebacker Dan Miller one spot over from Will to Mike and sophomore Marcus Rhoden rotated with true freshman Greg Booth at Will. Booth was on the field on obvious passing situations, recording four tackles and a tackle for loss while Rhoden had four tackles as well. Miller finished the game with six tackles in back to back games, recording an interception in the opener.
The loss of Love isn't a small one especially from a play calling standpoint as he was in charge of relaying the plays to the defense from the sidelines. It wasn't clear from the press box who replaced Love as it appeared to be a mix of both safeties Jay Jacobs and Paul Williams as well as Miller.
‣ Florida State week promises to be major recruiting weekend for the Bulls
Recruiting visits are starting to be scheduled and if the Bulls homecoming game against Florida State on Nov. 13 wasn't already slated to be one of the bigger games on the calendar, it just got bigger.
A slew of top recruits including LB Gary Adkins, DT Chris Mark, offensive tackle Ben Brown, safety Fred Jones and offensive guard Lamar Felder have all confirmed to 247 Sports that they will be taking their official visits during that weekend. Top 247 safety Brandon Benjamin was non-committal when asked but did hint towards that weekend being the one where he visits the Bulls.
The list should continue to get bigger as visits get finalized.

USF Bulls Takes Care of Kentucky 44-23 Despite Injury to White
Despite outgaining Kentucky's offense by nearly two hundred yards, the USF defense eventually figuring out their surprising offense and scoring 44 points without their Heisman winning quarterback, Bulls head coach Malcolm Francois Sr. was not a happy camper on Saturday night.
"We have to play better," said Francois, "This is one of the worst games we've played in recent years, that kind of performance is not going to cut it if we want to get to where we want to be."
The Bulls were able to survive an early stampede against Kentucky who came out in a heavy triple option based offense and losing quarterback Jed White early in the game to injury in the team's 44-23 win over the Wildcats.
Kentucky rushed for 127 yards in the total game with the bulk of those yards coming in the first half and specifically the first quarter as they jumped out to a 10-0 lead.
After both teams swapped touchdowns, White would leave the game with an injury on the same drive that true freshman Corey Montgomery scored his second touchdown of the day on an eighteen yard run.
White would return to the sidelines in street clothes for the second half and appeared to have some discomfort stemming from his right arm. White was not made available to the media and Francois did not comment on the extent of the injury.
Despite missing out on White, the Bulls would score two more touchdowns in his absence, including a pick six from Jonathan Mirvil and Montgomery's third touchdown of the day. The true freshman finished with 79 yards on the ground and 108 yards receiving.
Jay Jackson, who replaced White, completed 9 of 18 passes for 107 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions.
