USF preparing for ramp up of recruiting as official visits begin

USF will have its first big recruiting event of the season this weekend when it hosts several top targets in three-star linebacker Charles Moore, four-star defensive ends Kyle Wood and James Foster, three-star fullback Earl May, four-star offensive guard Corey Lee and three-star linebacker Ryan Robinson.

Despite their three-star rankings, USF is really high on May and Robinson and view them as potential under the radar studs in this class. Both players camped at USF during the spring with May running an impressive 4.54 forty while Robinson, at 230 pounds, moves very well in space and even plays some nickel on the 7-on-7 circuit. USF attended Robinson's game last week and several members of USF's staff, including tight end's coach Buck Burns, attended May's game two weekends ago.

The Bulls are recruiting May at tight end as the number two ranked fullback does a bit of everything for Chaminade-Madonna, finishing second in rushing and receptions last season for the Lions.

98 points?! 98 points! Bulls slap the Wildcats around in utter drubbing
USF head coach Malcolm Francois Sr. spent three seasons at Kansas State as their co-offensive coordinator and receiver's coach before being hired at USF. If Francois Sr. enjoyed his time in Manhattan, Kansas, he didn't show it on Saturday.

USF scored forty-nine points in the fourth quarter, aided by a pick-six and two more interceptions as USF drubbed Kansas State 98-17 in the program's highest scoring game and the Wildcats worst loss in school history.

Mark Cunningham got the 'start' at quarterback for the Bulls but after his interception the second drive of the game which aided a Kansas State touchdown, he was replaced by Jet Millines who wouldn't leave the game until it was out of hand, throwing five touchdown passes, including two to tight end Jeff Rutledge to take the 42-14 lead before leaving the game.

Millines finished the day with 309 yards. Cunningham returned to throw three touchdown passes, two to Rutledge who had a career day with nine receptions for 102 yards and five touchdowns, nearly besting his totals from last season in terms of receptions and yards. As a freshman, he caught ten passes for 117 yards in twelve games.

USF coaching staff extremely high on latest additions to class despite rankings

USF is trending towards a top-five class with two five stars already committed and potentially more on the way but USF's coaching staff is just as excited as their latest additions in three-stars Earl May and Ryan Robinson who announced their commitment over the weekend following their official visits.

May, the second ranked fullback in the class, is being recruited as a tight end despite being listed at five-foot-ten and 236 pounds. He plays running back and H-back for state contenders Chaminade-Madonna, catching 23 passes last season to finish second on the team. A run heavy offense, May does plenty of blocking as well for the Lions although there is room for improvement there in terms of technique and physicality.

The same can be said for Robinson who is one of the better athletes in the state this cycle as a two-way player for Centennial High School. Robinson's tape is a lot of fun to watch on both sides of the ball as he's an electric runner with the ball in his hands and a versatile, fluid linebacker that does a bit of everything for the Eagles. He had six interceptions as a sophomore and started being used as a rusher more in the past two seasons which could unlock another part of his game. He's still leaning the position at linebacker but he's a good enough athlete to take a flyer on.

The Bulls have also gotten involved in the recruitment of five-star safety Clarence Sullivan out of South Carolina. The top ranked free safety this cycle, he was expected to play at IMG Academy this year but was expelled from IMG following an undisclosed incident in the spring. Sullivan isn't playing football this fall as he's home schooled and focusing on graduating with USF being the latest school to offer him. Alabama, Penn State and USC were heavily recruitment prior to the incident at IMG but have since cooled off.

The Bulls are targeting four other IMG players this year, including safety Julian Harrell, and have built a solid pipeline to the football factory over the years so they may have more information on what happened than most teams.
