GameDay expected to be in Tampa as Bulls set to host #1 Ohio State in October
Cooper Byrd -- Dynasty Sports Staff Writer

Many thought USF's home winning streak would most likely come to an end this season when they host Ohio State and Florida in the same year.

While that is no longer the case, the two matchups remain one of the more highly anticipated ones although there's plenty of time between today and Oct. 6 and Nov. 17 for both teams to stumble and the game to lose its allure.

What likely won't lose its shine is USF's September 8th road trip to Louisville in what could be a top-ten matchup. The Bulls tough start to the season continues with games against #21 Georgia, #20 Ole Miss, #1 Ohio State before a slight dip in competition prior to the stretch of in state games. The Bulls don't leave the confines on Raymond James Stadium from the month of November on.

Bulls go with redshirt sophomore Antonio Whitehead as QB1
Cooper Byrd -- Dynasty Sports Staff Writer

The University of South Florida has released its first official depth chart of the season ahead of it's season opener against Arkansas and the answer at quarterback is Antonio Whitehead.

Whitehead started the SEC Championship Game last season and impressed before leaving the game with an injury. Bulls Defense Dominates Arkansas in Season Opening Shutout Victory
Rhett Lashlee left a budding college football dynasty at USF to try to build one of his own in Arkansas. He's got a long way to go.

Lashee's Razorbacks were outgunned, outmanned and ran by in the team's 56-0 loss to the University of South Florida on Saturday night in South Florida's season opener.

The game was over at halftime as first-time starter Antonio Whitehead was able to overcome a first quarter interception to lead the Bulls to five straight scoring drives, including a sixty-one yard run by Whitehead on 2nd and 25 in the second quarter.

Whitehead only played a half, going 18 of 21 for 228 yards and both a rushing and passing touchdown. George Mobley closed the game with two more touchdowns as USF's defense handled the rest, holding Arkansas to 272 yards of total offense, forcing three turnovers and outscoring the Razorbacks as a defense with a pick six.

Texas, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma Send Joint Request to SEC for Membership
Stewart Ray -- SI.com College Football Senior Writer

Texas A&M, Texas and Oklahoma have official made their request to join the SEC.

The board of regents at all three schools voted unanimously for their respective schools to leave the Big XII on Monday. Tuesday morning, they wasted no time applying for membership to the SEC, setting the stage for what could effectively be the end of the Big XII as a power five conference and maybe as a conference at all.

Less than five years ago, the Big XII got a much needed injection when Texas A&M and Missouri rejoined the conference in hopes for a bigger piece of the pie in the upcoming television rights deal. Unfortunately, this led to the conference's most successful program of late, USF, to jump ship to the SEC as part of a multi-conference shakeup that saw all major Florida schools join the SEC.

A lack of success and participation at the BCS levels has saw the Big XII's financial success dwindle, even with the new TV deal. With Vanderbilt voluntarily deciding to join the Big Ten due to what their school president called a "cultural fit", the doors were once again opened for powerhouse Texas, Texas A&M and Oklahoma to join the SEC, which was the initial plan back in 2023.

Reports have already began that Missouri and Oklahoma State are considering a potential move to the Pac-12 and that Iowa State could join Iowa in the Big Ten with the ACC also sniffing around West Virginia, who they considered adding back in the early 2010s.

If the conference does implode, it does alleviate Texas, Texas A&M and Oklahoma of the $70 million exit fee that they'll have to pay. Negotiations are expected to begin with the conference with multiple national media members having suggested the three schools could be playing in the SEC as early as next fall.
