The Miami Dolphins Celebrate While Cowboys, Bucs, Colts, Lions and Browns Hold Out Hope
A team won't be going undefeated this season as the Los Angeles Chargers -- the last of the undefeated teams -- lost to the Kansas City Chiefs 24-14 in a game that promised fireworks but ultimately was a defensive battle that the Chiefs were able to win to keep pace of the AFC West crown. With the loss, the 1972 Miami Dolphins remain the only team in NFL history to go undefeated through the regular season and the playoffs.

Since 1944, only five teams have had winless seasons in the NFL: the 1960 Dallas Cowboys (0–11–1), the 1976 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0–14), the 1982 Baltimore Colts (0–8–1) the 2008 Detroit Lions (0–16), and the 2017 Cleveland Browns (0–16). With the recent addition of a seventeenth game, no team has ever went 0-17, something that currently only the Houston Texans are still in contention for as Green Bay finally won their first game of the season.

The Packers beat Denver 24-21 thanks to two rushing touchdowns from quarterback Jordan Love while the Texans were on a bye week, hoping to reload and beat the Carolina Panthers in what will be a battle between the top three picks of last year's NFL draft in Houston's C.J. Stroud (2nd) and Will Anderson (3rd) going up against top pick Bryce Young.

Burrow has the edge in terms of yards per game since we haven't had the bye but yeah, that game put Jimmy G at the top in terms of total yards, just need to clean up those INTs

Raiders' Austin Hooper and Thayer Munford land on IR as they trade for Houston's Brevin Jordan
The Las Vegas Raiders have placed veteran tight end Austin Hooper and offensive tackle Thayer Munford Jr. on injured reserve, effectively ending their season. The Raiders used the open roster spots to acquire Houston's Brevin Jordan in exchange for three seventh round picks that were originally owned by New England, Minnesota and Tennessee. They also signed offensive tackle A.J. Jackson from the Los Angeles Rams' practice squad.

Hooper, 28, tore his pectoral muscle while Munford, who was replacing the injured Jermaine Eluemunor at right tackle, dislocated his ankle. Justin Herron, who finished the game against Chicago, will likely replace Munford until Eluemunor returns to the starting lineup in a week or so.

Hooper started the season as the starter at tight end but had been losing snaps to rookie Michael Mayer for the past few games with Mayer starting against Green Bay and Chicago last week, having a career day against the Bears and recording his first career touchdown. On the season, Hooper had eight receptions for 65 yards.

Jordan, a fifth round pick in 2021, scored three touchdowns as a rookie for the Texans but has seen his role with the team lessen since and has yet to catch a pass this season despite playing 129 snaps for the Texans. Jordan joins Mayer as the only active tight ends on Vegas' roster.

‣ NFL 2023 Regular Season, Week 8 - Ford Field, Detroit, Michigan
(4-3) Las Vegas Raiders at Detroit Lions (5-2)

LV | 3 | 6 | 0 | 6 | 15
DET | 3 | 3 | 3 | 0 | 9

Las Vegas Raiders outlast Detroit Lions on Monday night in defensive, kicking battle
On the surface, there's not a ton of similarities between the Las Vegas Raiders and the Detroit Lions starting from where they hail, flashy Las Vegas versus gritty Detroit, a former boy genius offensive mind in Josh McDaniels against a tough, former player in Dan Campbell as head coaches. But beneath, they're quite the same. Two long suffering franchises that are trying to end playoff and championship draughts behind a power running game and a defense.

On Monday night, it was 'flashy' Vegas that won a blue collar, hard nosed battle that featured no touchdowns and no turnovers in their 15-9 victory over Detroit to earn their fifth win of the season and kickstart their playoff push.

The game was decided in the fourth quarter where Vegas was able to score two field goals while the Lions were blanketed, never once crossing the 50-yard line. They got to their 38-yard line with 5:07 remaining, down six, but Jared Goff would be sacked by Jerry Tillery to end that drive. Vegas then deployed their four minute offense, running the ball seven times with a 22-yard completion to Davante Adams sandwiched in their to run out the clock.

It was a quiet day for Adams who had just two catches for 36 yards.
