Wisconsin's RBU legacy continues with J.D. Barksdale's commitment to the Badgers
Evan Temple-- Badger247 Recruiting Insider
Five-star running back J.D. Barksdale has committed to the Wisconsin Badgers, hoping to join the long list of historic running backs to come out of Madison.
Michigan, Illinois and Iowa were also involved in Barksdale's recruitment.
Barksdale is his area's all-time leading rusher with 6,726 yards and is second in rushing touchdowns with 78. He plays linebacker as well for Peoria High School and is an elite athlete who checks all the boxes when it comes to size, speed and power as well as football IQ. Barksdale routinely bounces off tacklers and casually drags them into the endzone at five-foot-ten and 237 pounds with a body type that should improve as he sheds off the body fat and grows into his 'man body' as part of a college nutrition program as well as strength and conditioning.
Barksdale is the latest in a growing list of recruiting victories for the Badgers as head coach Charles Huff and defensive coordinator Jerome Singleton continue to prove to be workhorses on the recruiting trail.

Medina a dawg fr. He had a pick six from the goal line which is what the pic is from
Since it was an FCS team, decided not to do a video only to have two crazy plays like that pick six and then a hail mary at half time where the ball bounced off 3 players into the receiver's hand
yessir! who is going to carry the boats?!

Coach Singleton's Notes:
‣ A well rounded team with no clear weakness that can beat us in a multitude of ways.
‣ Must make them line up one more time and avoid surrendering big explosive plays. They're going to score points but need to limit quick drives and instead make them line up over and over again.
‣ Cannot allow Chauncey Carpenter to get out in space. Must keep containment and force him inside to our best tacklers.
‣ When David Knox comes into the game, must not underestimate his ability to break tackles despite his angular frame.

This will be a good test. At least with defense you don’t get rattled as much on the road.

Coach Singleton's Post Game
Q: On that final defensive play, was the defense allowing the offense to score to preserve some time?
A: Not necessarily. We called an aggressive defense to try to get them behind the sticks with the full understanding that if they picked it up, it's likely a score. It's one of those situations where a minimal gain is the worst case scenario, right, so you want the defense to go all out to make a play or don't, quite frankly.
Q: The offense didn't score until the fourth quarter but they did put the defense in position to seal the game but they were unable to. How do you sort of balance a good performance for most of the game but being unable to finish it?
A: Sometimes you play well enough as a unit to win and you don't. Other times, you play like shit and you still win. We didn't play very well against (Western Illinois) and we still won the game. We played very well for the most part today and we lost so we can't rely on the offense to win games, we have to do what we can and go from there.

RT #74 Dominic Rivera, Rs Junior | 6'8", 310lbs | 82 ovr, 87 str, 88 pbk, 82 rbk
Coach Singleton's Notes:
‣ Potential letdown game after the defense played so well against Penn State but didn't get the win.
‣ Not much explosiveness on offense so will need to cut down on mental errors as they are an opportunistic offense
‣ Need to force turnovers, get points on the board as the offense cannot be relied upon to consistently score
The Victory Lap.
How much can you blame the D? The offense isn't giving much support.
Now Rutgers is up. Hopefully we can beat them.
